NO RADAR

One thing you can say about Fairhope City Council, is that they are consistent. Council President Jack Burrell, who has stained the seat as President of Fairhope Council for two terms, is now beginning his third term, as President. For 9 years Jack has monopolize a position that is normally shared by the whole council, but they do things different in Fairhope.

Mr Burrell and Council was sued, in Federal court, for denying public speech:

The meeting in question, along with Ripp’s nasty confrontation with Council President Burrell—who denied Ripp his right to speak in a public forum sanctioned by City of Fairhope ordinance—and threatened his removal and arrest for trying to address the council—was captured on the official video of the council meeting.

The city lost the lawsuit and cost taxpayers thousands of dollars. This had no effect on Burrell who has a history of sneaky methods to hide, what should be public information or quash public participation.

Jack’s latest stunt involves the Fairhope Airport Authority, FAA, where he already has an infamous reputation for bid rigging. The latest stunt is that there will be NO Airport Authority meetings on line for the public to see. Not since February has their been a recorded meeting, nor has there been any explanation or public notice.

It seems that the only reason they were public was that the former Mayor Wilson demanded that they be on line for transparency and accountability.

Our new Mayor is leaving it up to Jack.

Burrell has now deemed the Fairhope Airport Authority, a separate entity of the city, which is totally subsidized by the city, and that recording the meetings is not necessary.

The other excuse given is that the meetings will be held a 5:00 pm, which requires overtime to be paid to the audio tech. Total B.S.

This is a classic, “No Radar”, Jack move.

No public participation, no video record, no accountability, no transparency, no explanation.

Jack has cost Fairhope millions of dollars in very poor decisions, where he alone or with a few selected friends, made bad deals without any oversight. He has a well established record of suppressing information while providing, bogus B.S.

The Airport Authority sent out an RFP on September 21, 2015 and had a submittal date of October 13, 2015.

In Fairhope, the quarterback is none other than the most sneaky and corrupt politician in Baldwin County. The great negotiator, Sneaky Jack Burrell, who chose tonight to use the City Council meeting, which no-one goes to, to swear in the Municipal Judge Haymes Snedeker.

GOT FLEAS

In a letter to Sullivan and Council President Jack Burrell last week, Raines expressed concern the proposal will not be fully vetted by citizens prior to council approval.

CSB / RAILROAD- NOMINATION

The council denies they knew anything about Robert Brown purchasing his ”family” property July 21 2020. Once it was made public and on the record, Council President Burrell got all tongue tied trying to defend his railroad nomination process. He contradicts himself numerous times and ends up with one of his episodes of gibberish.

SELECTED NOT ELECTED

The Fairhope Mayor and acting Mayor Burrell are moving at lightning speed to replace Robert Brown’s seat on the City Council, before any citizens can say a word.

A SLAP ON THE WRIST

The City attorney, Marcus McDowell, works for the council, Jack Burrell controls the council. McSharry is, or was, Jack’s closest friend. Fairhope councilman “Strawman” Kevin Boone is the father of Scott Boone and the conduit to SBC, this is a very cozy and politically connected Cabal.
