GOB COUP

Fairhope politics has taken on a coup mentality. Mayor Wilson upset the apple cart of two political groups: Tim Kant followers, and Jack Burrell and his cronies, both supported by Catalyst. Kant followers have fallen off in recent years and Mr Burrell was assured by Kant he would be the next mayor, along with two others. Jack hedged his position by playing both sides to his benefit however mayor Wilson winning was not in the cards.

Shock descended on the old guard and they immediately hatched a plan to oust mayor Wilson by any means possible. Reports surfaced of Mr. Burrell bragging that he could drive her crazy and out of office in a year. Insubordination by certain employees went hand in hand with back biting the mayor and slowing down requests she had made. Mr Burrell became a fixture in city hall stoking the fire at every opportunity. Then two employees, Fiddler and Sullivan are fired and the council imposes a hiring freeze. Jack next move is to assure Judge Snedeker is sworn in immediately as municipal judge, without any comment from the public.

Judge Snedeker is Mr Ray Hix partner with Hix/Snedeker companies. This is the same company that is involved with the airport bid process that has led to multiple complaints. It should also be noted they were contributors to almost all the city council members. Hix/Snedeker had plans to be the new kids on the block and they had Jack hook line and sinkerโ€• problem is Kant lost.

The newest issue is the HR Director and her allegations. The story should be how the allegations were secret for months. The mayor did not know a complaint had been filed, Jack did.

Fairhope HR restructure could cause demotion for current director

Changes to the Human Resources department for the city of Fairhope could be coming soon, as Mayor Karin Wilson said the department is being changed to suit the cityโ€™s needs. โ€œItโ€™s just a โ€ฆ

The incident happened Dec.29,17, the HR director filed an incident report to police a month later Jan. 25th, she did not file a claim until May 19,17, the above article is dated May 12. The director saw it coming so she played her trump card and filed a claim, witnessed by Fidler, who was fired. These people are not very smart.

Claim alleges assault by Fairhope mayor on city HR director

The HR director now โ€œis receiving medication for ‘her nerves’ and the alleged assault continues to affect her ability to work.โ€ She is now seeking damages in the amount of $100,000. If successful, she will not need medication. If this is the case she should be fired immediately or given an unpaid leave of absence until the legal issue is resolved.

The Courier and WABF AM, yes there is an AM, both cater to the a small minority of people that represent the most senior residents in Baldwin County and the hold outs to inevitable change. They depend on the GOBโ€™s to keep it local. The Courier and WABF also seem to share the same ability and motivation to cover this story before anyone knew there was a story, and while the Mayor was out of town. Jack was on the radio with Jay Robinson the last Monday giving the subject all the coverage he could garner. The Courier will only present one side of the story and when presented with documents that incriminate any GOBโ€™s, they just turn a deaf ear. WABF has the same policy, damn the truth we have our own story. Both are not being honest with there followers who deserve to here the other side of the story.

Lagniappe took the approach of caution and their articles informs the public of more than one side of the story.

Trumped up charges against Wilson in Fairhope?

Fairhope employee files complaint against Mayor Wilson

THE RIPP REPORT We are deeply involved in supporting good government and eliminating political corruption by exposing elected officials who abuse their office. Jack Burrell is trying to hijack the first honest election Fairhope ever had. It makes no difference if Karin Wilson won or anybody else. They would still be getting the same crap. The fact that she is a woman made it easier for Burrell and Boone to use bullying tactics at public meetingsโ€• real Christian men! However, these willing participants and council members being led by the nose by Burrell are now entering uncharted waters. It is obvious that some employees and ex-employees, assisted and encouraged by Mr. Burrell, have colluded with one another in supporting a coup of Fairhope municipal government. Donโ€™t be surprised when the insurance company being asked to fork over $100,000 dollars does a little investigating themselves. Catalyst, the GOB representative, led by Scott Boone, councilman Kevin Booneโ€™s son, has been privileged to confidential city business, supplied by his father and employees following Jack. Jack is the subject of multiple complaints and Kevin Boone has so many conflicts of interest and LLCโ€™s that he should not be on the council.

This is not just about Fairhope, the County Commissioners all favor Catalyst and Fairhope is a cherry they must have to maintain control. The power brokers live in Fairhope and their connections and corruption go all the way to goat hill.

Mr Burrell and Mr Boone cannot name 5 things of significant importance to the city that they have accomplished in 5 years. Mr. Burrell has demonstrated he has no leadership qualities, unless it benefits himself and his cronies.

The day will come when these people are going to have to raise their hand in a court of law. By the time this happens they will have lost track of their lies and they will eat their own.

Fairhope if you allow Jack Burrell to continue with this counterproductive plan and prevent the mayor from doing her job, you can kiss Fairhope goodbye. If the council continues to follow Jack and rejects every effort of the mayor to do her job, then they will have the dubious title of worst Fairhope City Council ever.

This is a simple case of a small minority ignoring the vast majority for their own personal gain.

ITโ€™S WAR GOOD VS. EVIL
MINORITY VS. MAJORITY

New claim against the city regarding the mayor’s conduct. Slander, defamation by her against another city employee. Walls seem to be crumbling around her. What is next?

        Confirmed!

Officials with the city of Fairhope confirmed the claim had been filed.

Wilson emailed Gulf Coast Media to say the city was investigating the matter.

โ€œThis claim, too, will be handled internally by legal counsel,โ€ Wilson wrote.

          • Ladies and Gentleman of the Jury | May 28, 2017 at 9:33 pm |

It will be up to a jury if it goes to court! Think about that for a minute, a city government, a mayor firing a long-term employee. Ladies and Gentleman of the jury, this lady gave her life to the city of Fairhope, then mayor did her wrong…

If you think folks in this county thinks highly of Fairhope think again. Remember the mayor talk about folks outside the city limit not paying their fair share? “They don’t add anything to the city.” Well, I know how this is going to end, and it is not good for Fairhope or the mayor.

The discovery process, the interviews with witnesses, the emails, the phone logs, depositions, the depositions is where someone is empeached because that is what a deposition is all about.

The easy money is on the plaintiff!

            • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 10:31 am |

“Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury”. You said it will be up to a jury if it goes to court. Well, why don’t we and especially you, all wait and see what happens first. I think we all agree with that part. Honestly, the Mayor really does and should have the right to fire any employee she wants to. That’s the way it has worked for decades in Fairhope and in any other cities for that matter. Never a problem for Kant?? Interviews, emails, depos, etc. You are trying to be the witness, the judge and the jury which you are none of these. You had it right in your first sentence. It will be up to a jury (or even a judge) if it goes to court. Leave it at that. I’m sure the truth will come out no matter which side you are on. By the way. People get fired everyday and in this case, the Mayor didn’t have to give her a reason.

You are right, the mayor can fire whoever she wants, so long as she does not discriminate, retaliate, imitate or abuse her power, then she can fire at will. Alabama is a right-to-work state, so long as you do not discriminate!

Remember at one of the first city council meetings when the mayor took office she stated she wanted to hire someone that knew human resources?

That statement alone can be used as prima-facia evidence that she was planning to fire the HR director after the alleged event occurred before the mayor allegedly assaulted this lady.

                • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 12:49 pm |

Which also means this lady and her witness have been planning this bogus claim…

                • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 2:48 pm |

I believe that ‘right to work’ has to do with the ability to work in a trade without joining that union. It has nothing to do with being able to fire someone.
However, I agree that the Mayor can fire anyone that she can’t work with. Fairhope didn’t promise Sullivan a job for life; change can be an excellent thing if the Mayor chose to hire someone who was qualified for the job. Sherry Sullivan should be able to find another job if she did a good job for Fairhope and was not fired for cause. We just don’t have that information yet.

              • The Mayor is Correct! | May 29, 2017 at 9:49 pm |

The mayor is correct, she did not commit assault, she committed HARASSMENT! She stated that it will be proven she did not assault the lady, she is just like a damn politician, she is simply mixing her words as to imply she has done nothing wrong. That is it, I am through with all of this crap! Who the hell can you trust around here! Who is telling the truth?

                Alabama Criminal Code, 13A-11-8

(a)(1)โ€‚Harassment. โ€‚A person commits the crime of harassment if, with intent to harass, annoy, or alarm another person, he or she either:
a.โ€ƒStrikes, shoves, kicks, or otherwise touches a person or subjects him or her to physical contact.

b.โ€ƒDirects abusive or obscene language or makes an obscene gesture towards another person.

(2)โ€‚For purposes of this section, harassment shall include a threat, verbal or nonverbal, made with the intent to carry out the threat, that would cause a reasonable person who is the target of the threat to fear for his or her safety.

What charges do each of the city councilmen get pinned with?

                  • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 1:20 pm |

All them have been Lying and certainly committing harassment! Seen it at the meetings and I heard their proven lies before the election. Nothing to argue here. Oh. And a couple of them you can throw in unethical charges. Don’t worry. They might not get convicted of the first 2. But the unethical charges are coming. Simple. Their campaign lies are actually disturbing enough!!!! No one can disagree with that fact since it has already been proven several times since the election while during the meetings.

                    • Stupidity Abound | May 30, 2017 at 10:02 pm |

Here’s what I would really love to see, all of the council to resign. Not because they have done anything wrong but just to prove that if this mayor runs this city the way she wants, this city will be destroyed.

I would not work, run for office or volunteer for anything to do with the city of Fairhope! Not anymore, not with this mayor!

Since the new de novae carpetbaggers have moved it, those that moved here to live because they loved it, and are the same carpetbaggers that want to change our city. Why did you move here to start with? We have two long-term mayors and they both made Fairhope what it is today.

Not someone that moved her 10, 20, or even 30 years ago. It is funny when others build something how others want to jump in and start beating their chest and then try and run things.

GOB’s, well, they built this city, they made this city attractive for others to want and come here. When you bring in others that have done nothing for the city, never volunteered for the city

The question that needs to be asked, why dod you move here? Did you leave your old city because you didn’t add value to your city?

                    • Anonymous | May 31, 2017 at 12:22 am |

You probably haven’t ever done anything for this city in the first place except to help cause problems.

This is what scares me, it is people like you that will be on a jury. Uneducated, already have your mind made up, and foolish!

              • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 10:18 pm |

Tried to explain this earlier. I’m glad you feel that way. Up to a jury but the person says the mayor is guilty??? These are unfortunately the people we have to put up with everyday! Maybe it will swing the other way. I’m actually seeing it in Fairhope. People are educating themselves to be able to have to live with these people and gain control. I’m so proud of the citizens of Fairhope. They are working so hard together to take on all the dumbases! Keep it up Fairhope!!

          • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 12:26 pm |

Speaking of the Soccer Fields……Were the previous owners of the land that the Soccer Fields are located on, lawyers from the Hand Aredall Firm? Was the real estate agent Mike Ford who was a City Councilman at that time?

            • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 4:36 pm |

Someone needs to investigate that law firm

Didn’t Mr Ford also sell a small lot to the county for around a half million 15 years ago?
              Maybe I am wrong.

    Truth.
The city is suffering at the hands of the councilmen and some of their appointments.

We voted for positive change and don’t want to wait until next term to get it.

    • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 6:08 pm |

The council has done nothing wrong. They did not assault an employee, the mayor lost her temper just like the congressman did in Montana. This is going to cost the city lots of money, money that could be used to help our schools, this will cost more than what it cost to put all the lights downtown. Think about this, yeah, Fairhope wanted to change, now we have it and it is not positive.
Had a friend from Birmingham call me, ask me what was going on in Fairhope. Lord!
This mayor is causing chaos in Fairhope, she is killing this town, firing long-term employees and replacing them with her buddies that are not qualified.
She needs to take responsibility for her actions and issue an apology to the city employees, the citizens and most importantly, an apology to that poor lady she attacked!
She does not represent the city well, Fairhope is now known for the mayor that assaulted an employee.
I would move but my family has been here long before that mayor’s family moved to town. All these carpetbaggers need to move!

        • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 10:19 pm |

The only butt she has kicked is that poor lady she assaulted! Shame on you for encouraging the mayor to use violence.

      • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 11:01 pm |

        The corrupted fools shot themselves.
They brought the so called “carpetbaggers” in with all their developments and planning zoning/ordinances/resolutions and it will be these very same smart people that will get these good ole boys out.

      • Anonymous | May 27, 2017 at 8:13 am |

It took the poor lady that was “attacked” a long time to file her complaint ??

        • Anonymous | May 27, 2017 at 12:10 pm |

If you feared for your job would you have filed a complaint? Why does a woman wait years before they file complaints against men for sexual harassment?

They do not want to be labeled! The still have to go to work, and after 4 years this mayor will be gone, as in LONG GONE and this poor lady will still be there. She does not want to be labeled and harassed by some of the new hires the mayor makes.

I agree with one poster on here, she needs to apology to the lady and takes full responsibility for her actions. AND disclose the cost to the city for her acts.

This so wrong, so wrong on so many levels and uncalled for. This has changed my opinion of the new mayor, she will not get my vote in the next election if she runs again.

      • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 3:07 am |

And you think that Kant as better than Karin Wilson??? Even if the City ends up paying the $100,000, (not that she is guilty because I DONT BELIEVE FOR A MINUTE THAT SHE ATTACKED ANYONE) it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than the MILLIONS that Kant cost the City in Lawsuits for the Triangle and Publix, and let’s not even mention the Airpoet Authority deal that the City is paying almost $400,000 a month for all that property at the Airport that should BELONG to the City since the Airport defaulted on their mortgage several years ago!!! I’m CERTAIN ALL OF THAT ADDS UP TO A HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN A LOUSY $100,000! So you damn assholes that just don’t like Karin Wilson just need to get your head out of your ASS! GROW THE HELL UP! You’re the ones that have something to hide, not Karin! MUST BE A YUUUUUGE SECRET TO BE MAKING UP THESE KIND OF LIES! ????????????

        • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 2:43 pm |

THAT IS WHY KANT IS NO LONGER MAYOR fool! Wilson was the lesser of the two evils, we knew what Kant did but Wilson was making promise, after promise, after promise to stop the lawsuits, remember the fresh eyes theory?

She been in office how long? We have just begun to add, it took Kant what 16 years to cost the city all this money. So it would appear she is on track to cost us about the same, maybe a little more. lol

Mayor Wilson’s spending on salaries and other issues to come…$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The reason Kant is no longer mayor is the bad decisions, but looking back, he represented the city in appearance, speaking, and his demeanor was better, notwithstanding he made poor decisions so he needed to go!

If are using the Kant argument to defend her then you need to get a glass stomach because it is hard so see where you are going with your head up your butt! LMAO, Still LMAO.

Instead of “Karzy” Karin, the name should be “Spendthrift” Karin!

Or “One & Done” Karin, Or “Lefty” Karin, Or “Tyson” Karin!

This is like trading one car that has 100,000 miles on it for another car that 120,000 miles and both cars are 2015 Kia’s!

      • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 9:22 am |

What proof do you have that the allegations made about the mayor are true? In this country, the accused are innocent until proven guilty. Would you like to be presumed guilty of something just because someone said you did it? And what “buddies” has the mayor hired who are not qualified? What is it they are not qualified to do? Why do you assume people she has hired are buddies? Mayor Kant indeed did hire relatives and friends (how were they qualified by the way?), but Mayor Wilson is being crucified for hiring people she may have known prior to taking office. It’s a small town and would be difficult to hire anyone you have not at least met. As for the cost to the city, where is the concern for the costs of the numerous unnecessary lawsuits filed against the city (and paid out) over the past decades? There are many allegations in your comment, but little to back them up.

        • No, two people said she did it, not one! This is not she said, she said issue, this is an issue that has a witness that saw the assault.

The reason Kant is no longer mayor is crap like this!!! We are concerned about the past, thus a change in leadership. We wanted transparency, we wanted the lawsuits to go away, but now, they are bbbaaaccckkkk!

Mayor Kant was never sued for assaulting an older lady!

Look, everyone knows she hired her buddy, the lady was in DC, prior to that she lived in New Hampshire, and prior to that who the hell knows. Her mother worked at the bookstore, and her buddy worked for Dean prior.

Transparency…remember that word, remember her words about watching over our assets, spending our money correctly, ending lawsuits, employees are our biggest asset (unless you didn’t support her) then you are fired.

Small town, lol, keep lying to yourself, keep trying to defend her because that what some do. YOU should demand she apology to the citizens over all of this, but instead of doing what is right YOU trying to defend her.

Have you heard me defend Kant?

          • Dorothy Mills | May 28, 2017 at 5:58 pm |

The reason Kant is no longer mayor is because the state came down and oversaw the election. Kan’ts father in law would have rigged it (odom) like always.

            • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 5:41 pm |

Twinkle toes SLBB worked for Mosher’s wife at creative outlet as a ballet instructor at the time she filed for bankruptcy a few years ago.

Is that public record? Can you prove this? Fake News! This is just like the assault allegation, you can’t believe everything on this site.

SLBB actually adds some class to the city’s current administration, at least she can dress the part!

                • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 10:13 pm |

Bankruptcy records are public. She had to swear under oath that the information she gave to the federal court was true and correct. Her sworn declaration was that she was a ballet instructor at creative outlet…Mosher’s wife’s studio. Nothing in there about “economic development” work. She bankrupted her Dillards and Victoria Secrets accounts among other debts.

Bankruptcy records don’t appear to be public. Where did you see Botop’s bankruptcy file? When did she last live in Fairhope and teach ballet? Seems a stretch to go from childrens’ ballet instructor to Economic Development Director? Surely, our Mayor is not that stupid?

Why does someone care about her past? Ms. Botop is a nice lady, she didn’t know what was going on when she took this position. From reviewing her profile, she would be qualified. Blame the mayor and council but don’t blame her.

The reason I never post on here, and seldom view this blog is people like to cause trouble. I usually glance on this blog for laughs.

Everyone on this blog has way too much free time on their hands!

                    • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 7:23 pm |

The lady that is economic development director should bring businesses in the city. Has anyone heard of this occurring our side of some companies expanding that were already here? Has she been 5-6 months now?

If she is the economic development director she needs to get some economic develop going!

Or, at the end of the current mayor term, this lady runs for mayor and wins, worst case she ends up with a $100,000 salary but auto and all the benefits.

If she stays here in Fairhope for 4 years, that appears it would be the longest time she has stayed with any company she has worked for.

                    • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 7:59 pm |

I agree……she appears to be very unqualified for this. Additionally, if it is true that she has zero education past high school and if she did file for bankruptcy a short time ago, I would add that she may be a massive embarrassment to the city. She posts on her Linked in profile that she has a title that does not even exist here. Someone needs to put the brakes on her before she does something to put Fairhope on the hook for tax dollars.

                    • Anonymous | May 31, 2017 at 2:03 am |

So the mayor hired someone as the economic director that does not have a college education, did the job announcement require a 4-year degree? IT seems the new individuals she is trying to hire are all highly educated, the men all have master degrees and she hired her friend without a college degree and they are paid close to the same amount of money?

Talking about someone being sexist. I hope you are wrong that Botox has a college education, at some level. Maybe she has like 4 classes left, got married and had a family and never finished.

I know our mayor would not fire someone that had a degree and replace them with someone that is not educated just because she is a friend. No one is that stupid.

      • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 4:12 pm |

I would agree with you – IF the Mayor was guilty. But what proof do we have? The proof of a disgruntled employee who had been told she was going to be demoted? A witness – who was fired? This is nothing more than a money-grab and if you can’t see that, you’re blind.

        • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 10:16 pm |

          My eyes are wide open!

If would be different is this was she said, she said, but there were witnesses!

The only money grab is the mayor hiring her friends! It is like bingo when you are the only one with the numbers, oh, look what I just won, I just won a job that pays me $100,000, a new car, oh, an expense account so I can travel, oh, free healthcare, oh look, I get a pension too, oh look…yeah…look!

If you can’t you see that you’re blind!

          Guilty as they come!

    • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 11:07 pm |

After reading this article, and I am trying to be impartial here but I am not a fan of the mayor, I believe this did occur. I could see the mayor saying what was stated, and I could she the mayor shaking someone. I believe after this report was filed, wasn’t that when the mayor went to the hospital? I pray for this city this is all false, but I truly would like to see the dates the mayor was in the hospital and compare the dates. Damn!
Someone help me here, what was the timeline on all of this? And if the mayor is going to transparent, as she stated she want all allegations or lawsuits against to be public then this must become public. IS this why the mayor reached out to the council? Did she want peace because the council is going to see this? Someone needs to connect all the dots, follow the timeline.

      • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 1:52 pm |

The alleged incident took place at the end of December. Mayor Wilson was hospitalized about 2 months later…..I don’t see any connection.

  3. Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 3:27 pm |

You fail to report that the campaign manager for new council member Conyers was no other than Scott Boone

You want to boycott a station, have it go out of business, and be a vacant building?

Let me get this straight too. Say I’ve been friends with Snedeker years before I became involved in politics, took a ride on his plane, split the cost of the trip(fuel, cost, etc…) and got no personal gain out of it. What’s the big deal?
Tell us Ripp. When did the trip occur, what was the destination, who was on the plane, and how did it benefit either one of them?

You and JD Crowe seem to be awfully quiet these days?
I believe your queen is in real trouble and you are only seeing the top of the iceberg

If you were a city councilman it would be a conflict. Especially if your name was Jack and you were on the airport authority.

      • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 5:56 pm |

Was it a conflict for the mayor to get a family member to take a ride on a helicopter?

        • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 4:13 pm |

          Oh please.

          • Come one, Come all | May 28, 2017 at 10:29 pm |

        • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 4:58 pm |

I bet you are one miserable human being to be around. Bitching about a helicopter ride? No personal gain for the mayor or anyone else I cam assure you. How often do you get out?

            Often!

          • Free Rides For Everyone! | May 28, 2017 at 10:07 pm |

She used her office to get a family member a ride. If she was not the mayor, then that ride would not have taken place! Everyone likes to bitch about the council, so let’s bitch when the mayor does something unethical too!

    • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 4:56 pm |

The airport deal has been years in the making
And if you took a ride on an airplane long ago
You should not be voting on anything that has to do with the airport and you should not be on the airport board
      Ethics 101

      • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 5:59 pm |

There is more to the “Airport Deal” than any ol plane ride !
You have to follow the money and all grants the airport has received over the years.

        • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 11:08 pm |

Who is managing the grant money? RAY HIX the treasurer of the airport authority who is also building a hangar with the judge of Fairhope
let’s see a breakdown on where that money has been spent ……..

          • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 10:26 am |

Total all the government grants (TAX DOLLARS) the airport has received over the years!! Is there a number??
We should all the hangers any of the elite should possibly need….. Had not the money been squandered!

Ripp is not going to report anything negative about Conyers, he is the mayor’s little buddy. He knows what the mayor would do to him, she would assault him too.
If I were the city employees, I’d form a union. The worse the management, the tougher the union, the better the management is the easier the union.

      • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 11:14 pm |

If Conyers is part of Catalyst then he’s pretending to be on the mayor’s side just to get information from her.

        • Anonymous | May 27, 2017 at 12:02 pm |

Conyers is a double agent. In the end, he will do what is in HIS best interest not as an ally of the mayor’s.

        • The Observer | May 29, 2017 at 10:39 pm |

Jimmy Conyers is a great guy, he is not pretending to be on anyone’s side. He had nothing to do with Catalyst, he is his own man. Just because he agrees with the mayor on how to run the city does not mean he is pretending.

Or maybe they made it up because they were disgruntled. It’s an allegation, not a fact. But you knew that already.

Where there is smoke there is fire! Sound the alarms!

The witness had not been fired, yet, she was still gainfully employed, the mayor took revenge and fired the witness!

Obstruction of justice! She is the woman’s version of Trump! But she has Clinton features too…

This just smells like poop, the more that comes out the more it shows just how ill-prepared the mayor is to run the city.

She is a liability to the city, she needs to be charged with assault and removed from office.

We need to save her from herself.

The Good Ole Boys will get theirs soon enough. What’s sad is these guys go to church and act straight and narrow and screw all of us while playing the Christian card.

    • THINK ABOUT IT | May 27, 2017 at 12:46 am |

Everyone seems to want to talk about people being in the sauce and religious/prayer breakfasts. WELL, You can bet that 110% of the time when any of these politicians bring up the “I’m a Christian/God/Holy Card” they always make sure they inform you first without you inquiring about it. These are the ones who don’t know what being a God Loving person is or what being a true Christian is all about. We all have seen many of the politicians drink way too much at different types of events. Other people too! even at the charity fund raiser events for schools, sports, band, civic clubs, etc! Mr. DUI/Baldwin County Commissioner Chris Elliott was caught and then lied about it a hundred times. He has failed miserably with politics whether he knows it or not. We Promise you that he is done! Alabama Voters have woken up!!! Just watch. You think Tripp Pittman or Jack Burrell has a chance at office again? Nope!!! People are finally wanting to distance themselves from these types of people instead of sticking their heads up their butts! Catalysts!!! Who cares about them anymore!!! There will also be more DUIs issued according to certain people that we have talked to. People are tired of knowing that things are being overlooked. They are more concerned about protecting all of us and our children. That’s their jobs and they are awesome at it, but they are being worn out with most of these politicians continuing to excessively drink, speed and driving drunk. Saw a County Commissioner driving on 59 going over 90 mph just last week. Be careful after these functions or anytime for that matter. I know they are not the only ones. But everyone should be able to have a decent and clear conversation during these events and stay sober!!! Ask yourself about some of these events and you will agree that you have seen the terrible drinking behavior right in front of your eyes and the slurring words that we are hearing. A majority of these politicians don’t need to be driving home after these fundraiser events. I understand that many of you are hearing them clearly because you are doing the same thing and I caution you now. Stop getting behind the wheel yourselves. Things are going to get tougher and they should be regardless. It’s being done at EVERY event! Lets think about a these things while we are all trying to figure out all this mess! Think about it!

      • AMEN…Doesn’t the mayor have a bar in her bookstore? Did the mayor brag that she has the only bookstore where you can drink wine and peruse the various books? Doesn’t that bookstore have a children’s section? This is a great example to set for the youth of Fairhope.

YEAH…let’s look at all of them, not some a few but all those that serve in political office. If you serve alcohol then you should be responsible when someone has been served too much alcohol, then leaves your establishment and drives! The only politician I know that owns a bar is the mayor of Fairhope! DUI’s, driving in excess of the speed limit or assault, they all should be punished.

But you need to name a city councilman in Fairhope that has been a police report issued about them for assault? Name one, not even Kant was that stupid to assault someone, he took money under the table, ole Kant was slick but he was not that stupid. I don’t know of a city council member that has been charged with DUI, or see drinking?????

The only official at the Fairhope city hall that police report filled out on them is the sitting mayor, and you really do not know where the investigation is going, who knows, the mayor could be criminally charged with harassment/simple assault under the Alabama Code.

You use to see a lot of pictures of the mayor post on her Facebook, now deleted, alway seem to have a drink in her hand.

        They all need to go!

  9. Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 10:05 pm |

We don’t know all the facts yet but if the mayor assaults an employee and then fires the witness’s isn’t that obstruction of justice?

    • Anonymous | May 26, 2017 at 11:38 pm |

If you can’t see that Burrell and Boone are like Hillary and Karin is Trump you are blind to politics. The good $$$ is on Karin Wilson. Boone and Burrell are bad jokes. Fairhope is better than Foley and Robertsdale. These rednecks want to make it like the rest of Baldwin County. Fairhope is the gem of the Eastern Shore!

    • Anonymous | May 27, 2017 at 4:20 pm |

LOL, Fairhope was the gem of the Eastern Shore, not so much. Mayor Wilson is not only the blunt of jokes around Fairhope, but Mobile, Birmingham, and all of southern Baldwin County. You have not lived around these parts long, have you!

The only money I would ever place on the mayor is to help whoever is running against her! I’d put money on Ripp before I would put money on Mayor Wilson!

Move back to Florida from where you came! Carpetbagger!

  11. Melvin Beam | May 27, 2017 at 9:55 am |

This reminds me of Prichard politics and the Mobile School Board of the 1970’s. This is what happens right before the decline

    • Anonymous | May 27, 2017 at 4:48 pm |

Too many carpetbaggers in Fairhope, Prichard demographics were blue collar! Yes, Prichard was white but an uneducated white populous. Fairhope has a lot of carpetbaggers and education folks for Mobile, times have changed. Back in the 70’s a high school education would get you somewhere in life, now, even as diluted as a college degree is, at least you are better educated than in the past.

      • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 9:12 am |

A high school education will get you an APARTMENT in section 8 housing??

        • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 6:29 pm |

Also get you a job as Fairhope’s “economic developer” if you know Mayor Wilson.

          • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 7:40 am |

Does Botop not have any education other than high school? I assumed that she had some type of advanced degree.

            • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 2:30 pm |

Negative. High School diploma only with some college, probably dance. She was previously in California trying to be a dancer and taught yoga.

              • She graduated Ivy League | May 31, 2017 at 12:14 pm |

How do you know this? You don’t know Jack! You have no idea what her education level it, you are spreading rumors! Have you seen her job application? Or resume?

Even the mayor is not that dumb to hire someone of that type of job with that type of salary without an education.

Someone in city hall said she was a Harvard graduate! She went back to school while in the DC area and attended Harvard.

                • Anonymous | May 31, 2017 at 1:34 pm |

I think that her linked in profile read that she had taken a class at Harvard; it may have been a summer class or just a short seminar. I can’t remember the details but it definitely did not state that she was a graduate or had even attended for a year, for that matter. She should publicly release her resume so that Fairhope can see what we are paying for. She is full of buzz words but seems to lack any substantive experience or accomplishments.

                • Anonymous | May 31, 2017 at 2:45 pm |

She got a “certificate” for completing a one week initiative program offered by Harvard’s Business School. No degree…undergrad or grad. Look it up. It goes without saying ….Harvard Business School does not let you in without an undergraduate degree.

And how come the mayor has not denied these charges?

    • Anonymous | May 27, 2017 at 10:44 am |

Ripp is a veteran. It would be obvious to anyone familiar with the Marine insignia. Ever had to wipe someone else’s body parts off your face from a war of words? Didn’t think so, because the word isn’t defined so narrowly in real life outside your weak argument. She’s denied the charges. What you are doing here is not honest by any means. You know it.

      • You Are Dismissed | May 27, 2017 at 5:06 pm |

I am not a Paul Ripp fan, nor a Mayor Wilson fan and I believe in the first amendment, but you need to stop this type of talk. You can bitch, you can call Ripp out, and you can speak your mind, but you need to stop this type of talk about veterans.

At the end of the day, all we had was each other, it wasn’t about the flag, mom, apple pie nor America it was about each other. WE were there for each other, we died for each other, we cried for each other, and we shared out dreams of what we wanted when we got back home, we shared our water, a C-Rat, our fears, our laughs but we all knew that we never aired our disagreements outside of the family.

If you are a veteran, then stop attacking other veterans! You can attack the person but not as a veteran! You need to shut the fuck up with this talk, if you have been to war then you know we never talk about war or our experiences to others. Others would never understand what that experience is about. Those of us that have been to war know the unspoken rule, YOU need stop attacking this veteran. Stand down!

        You are dismissed, son!

So it is ok for him to say this is war? No I am not a vet. These are stories from my disabled vet family member. This is not war and Ripp disgraced the insignia with his B.S. Why is it ok to reference this city bs as war? As a non vet but patriot this offends me.

          • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 11:36 am |

It okay for any veteran so say whatever it is they want to say! We have defended, we put our life on the line for the FIRST amendment, so if we have earned the right speak.

YOU need to simply say thank you to all the veterans for their service because we have provided you with the right to speak your mind too.

This weekend is about honoring all those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Those that have died for your right to be free – don’t attack a veteran, attack the person.

All we have ever done for this country is provide folk like you the freedom that you cherish and love, simply thank us. Nothing more, just a simple thanks is all we ever want, no sympathy, just a thanks!

Please, do not attack any veteran for any word they choose to use, for we have earned the right to speak, just as we have provided you the right!

            • Anonymous | May 31, 2017 at 8:38 am |

No one said anything about his status as a vet. The point is this is not war. It is bickering that is going to cost the city money. Not war. As a vet I would have thought he knew the difference. Sounds like some snowflake vets with all the sensitivity.

I have been to war, but I will not ever talk about war! Will not watch it on TV!

The mayor knows she did what she did, and she will have to answer for it in court, that is why we went to war was to protect our way of life. The mayor could help herself if she would apology for what she did.

I have never met the lady that was assaulted, the witness helped me in the past, she is articulate, knows what she was doing and is highly credible. The believe the mayor did what the report and court document states.

I believe this ladies, it is too bad for the mayor, but she did what she did. Even if this is the GOB’s in action, the mayor has not shown the temperament to be in public office.

There was a reason the mayor extend that olive branch, she knew what was coming and now she needs the council to save her butt!

Wait and see, this will not be disclosed except by the real media because the mayor now realizes that not everything needs to so transparent because something happened to her!

All the finger pointing she has done is now going to be pointed right back into her face. IF she is smart, she would get out ahead of this, apology if her actions have harmed anyone, and come to the realization she is her own worst enemy.

People forgive, yes, we do forgive but not when you hide behind something, it is not the mistake that will define her, it is how she handles the mistake that will be the defining moment!

Hold your head high when you do apology because it takes more courage to apology for something you have done wrong than to point fingers or hide behind lawyers. It should be done at a council meeting, a town hall meeting and in an employee meeting.

      Stand tall and apology!

Jack is not going anyplace. Karin Wilson has allowed her credibility to be destroyed 100%. Roughly half of Fairhope voters voted for her but she waited about 24 hours after her election to show her true colors…….hiring her unqualified buddies for ridiculous amounts of money and bestowing royalty status upon herself. I wasted my vote. She is or has been advised by a bunch of morons who want power, status, revenge and recognition. So sad……she could have been a great leader for Fairhope but she has sunk to Jack’s level. He will probably win this game b/c she has proven to be as corrupt as Kant. So sad for our wonderful city. Who will take responsibility for sewer in the streets and bay while our Mayor and Council Members line their own pockets with our tax money?

      • Conyers is working overtime on the spin. What a slime. These good ole boys will do anything. Lie, cheat, steal and go to church. Sick group the five on the council.

Disgusting, two-faced humans. Will lie to your face.

Look into their financials. It pays to be on the council. Bigtime.

      • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 1:05 pm |

What are you smoking. Before making any judgement regarding Jack Burrell (which I guess you think is not going anywhere even after accusing him of lining his own pockets in your own post), the Fairhope Council or the Mayor, find out the facts. They all have been accused of doing something wrong. I promise you that the City Council regards most of the citizens of Fairhope as being ignorant and nieve and that they will not come together. They are in for a rude awakening because the citizens have already started a long time ago. They deserve bettter treatment and they will get it. Just a short time ago they lied and voted opposite of what they told all of us they would while standing right in front of our faces. Campaign Lies!!! That is one fact that we don’t have to wait on an answer for. No matter who you voted for!!! It’s already been proven during several of the city council meetings. This of course was all just to get votes to be able to screw us and they did! They are sooo good at it which is another fact. Educate others about the facts only when you know them.
        Relax and enjoy your summer.

Conyers is running for mayor along with Jack. that leaves just three council positions to get rid of.

If the transplants outnumber the goobers…the goobers in trouble.

    • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 8:59 pm |

And we are a laughing all the way to the bank!

Carpetbaggers come down from the north, they pay $25,000 an acre for pasture or $550,000-1,000,000 for a condo or house that we paid maybe $500 an acre or $150,000 for the house or condo!

Come on down you carpetbaggers! We are moving out of the city limits but we get to use all the facilities that ya’ll pay for!

      Whow…come on down! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

      • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 10:25 pm |

We all pay for them. You don’t have to live in the city limits to help Fairhope pay the bills. If it wasn’t for us living just outside the city limits. Fairhope would go broke. Damn!

  15. Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 4:12 pm |

I would not settle any of these claims
Both of these ladies are keeping dark secrets
    They’ve opened Pandora’s box

    • Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 9:29 pm |

I so agree with you. I know that Karin Wilson can be abrasive, but these read like bogus claims designed to fit Jack’s promise to drive the Mayor crazy and make her quit. There must be a lot more skeletons in the Kant/Boone/Burrell closet that we even imagined for them to stoop to these levels. I hope that Fairhope’s insurance company does a LOT of investigating before giving these frivolous lawsuits the time of day. I bet that both of these suits are underwritten by the Goobers.

      • Throw them all in jail! | May 29, 2017 at 10:23 pm |

I don’t think ANYONE wants there to a lot of investigating. They are all politicians, and like all politicans, they sneak around and plot against each other. And you can’t make the mayor crazy, she is crazy already!

What I truly believe, the mayor has a lot to hide, as do the others! Further, the Goobers did not underwrite these suits, the attorney took the suit based on the plaintiff collecting monies. So these guys are going to sue like hell, they want their money too!

This is all a bag of crap, the mayor’s approach, her lack of interpersonal skills, the GOB’s plots, throw them all in jail. Go back and charge all the previous city council, the old mayor(s), if they are dead, dig them up and charge them, this includes Ripp because started all this crap!

  16. Anonymous | May 28, 2017 at 5:00 pm |

Small town America is alive and well in Fairhope! A disgruntled employee files a bogus lawsuit, hoping to collect a windfall, and everybody for some ridiculous reason believes that she’s telling the truth! So much for being innocent until proven guilty.

  17. Carrie Trotter | May 28, 2017 at 5:56 pm |

So when will Jack Burrell and Kevin Boone and the rest of the guys on the council start their own ripp report and inform us what is really going on? All we ever get (the citizens) is lip service. No explanations.

Jack when are you going to come clean? All you are doing is running Jack. You cannot hide. If Ripp is lying then sue him! I am tired of your yellow tactics. Face the truth Jack.

Come clean. Quit hiding behind your anonymous postings.

    • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 9:12 am |

I agree 100% and I’d buy a ticket and pay top dollar to watch that show. Why has Jack Burrell not come clean. Jack has not denied a single thing. I agree that if all the things that the Ripp Report has said were not true about Jack Burrell, then why wouldn’t Jack let us know that it’s wrong, misinformed or even Fake news! I’d sue anyone saying all of this about me if it were not the truth. Jack can’t or Kant! Just one time I would like to see anyone of these councilmen come out THEMSELVES and say this is not true and prove it. Well, they haven’t. They owe it to us and especially to themselves. I damn sure wouldn’t put up with it. All the lies told by many of the sitting city council members just to get elected have already proven to be just that. Lies! If this isn’t true? Stand up for yourselves if you truly think you are right and being wrongfully accused. Do it at the next meeting. It’s that simple!

Go back Birmingham, or stay in Foley!

  18. Stephanie Smith | May 29, 2017 at 6:40 am |

To my utter disbelief I learned last week that Fairhope for YEARS has been pumping human waste in the bay.

That’s it! All of you council men are gone! You all make me sick!

    • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 8:29 pm |

I thought your poop wasn’t a problem? You act like it doesn’t stink, you act like you are perfect, crawl back under the rock from which you came! Cities have been dumping poop into our stream, rivers, and oceans since the dawn of time! Duh, duh, duh…butt.

  19. Leo Leslie | May 29, 2017 at 3:09 pm |

A friend spoke to Jack the other day. He said Odom is coming out of retirement in three years. Done deal like before.

    • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 10:13 pm |

What does that even mean? So Tim Kant’s 90 year old father in law who was useless for the city but very well paid has been rehired? By whom? Please constrain comments to facts (or even possibilities). I doubt that the city will re-hire a 90 year old man again, but if I am wrong please supply facts.

WHY WASNT the AIRPORT AUTHORITY meeting taped last time??????
    Sketchy!!!!

    • Anonymous | May 29, 2017 at 7:44 pm |

      Interesting…very interesting

    • I don’t think anyone wants to be taped anymore! STUFF is coming back to haunt her, I mean them! Yeah, I meant to state ‘them.’ LOL

      My money is on ‘others!’

  21. Danny Stineburg | May 30, 2017 at 5:58 pm |

Jack I know you are posting on this page. You better not run for mayor Mississippi boy. Fairhope ain’t stark vile.

    • Anonymous | May 30, 2017 at 7:33 pm |

Yeah, it is me posting on here, yeah…that is it, I’m doing all posting. Okay, you caught me, I am busted. Yep, I have posted on the Ripp report my whole life because this place is where you come to get the facts.

  22. Vote counter | May 30, 2017 at 8:20 pm |

The current mayor is dealing with all sorts of issues the next mayor would have faced regardless of who it is/would have been. That is the by product of the mentality if ‘ll worry about it later. It doesn’t affect me. If the latest employee to file suit was Mayor she would be dealing with the same things. Nobody had done the current employees any favors and they are the ones suffering in all this.

This forum is busier than a two dollar hooker at the end of the month.

  24. Laurie Gleason | May 31, 2017 at 6:30 am |

Great job riling them up Ripp! Keep em’ coming! Hopefully somebody goes to jail soon!!!

  25. Anonymous | May 31, 2017 at 7:52 am |

Has a record been set here with this number of comments and replies ??? Whew!

  26. Anonymous | June 1, 2017 at 6:21 pm |

By the time the law catches up with them (if it ever does – I doubt it so…), Fairhope and Daphne will be so far gone that it really won’t matter. We will end up being Airport Boulevard and Tillman’s Corner.
