Many people have seen the movie Just Mercy, a true story of the wrongful conviction of Walter McMillan, Baldwin County, Alabama. A second case that parallels the Just Mercy story is that of Murray Lawrence Jr, Fairhope, Alabama, Baldwin County. This case involves the Judge, Prosecutor and Sheriff, lead investigator at the time of withholding evidence from the defense, an inefficient police investigation. Please take a few minutes and review the links below, they will inform you of the facts of the wrongful conviction.

Hanky Panky by the Po Po
It seems the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department has internal hanky panky problems. One of the top officers in the Sheriff’s Department has been having a little extra curricular activity with a subordinate female employee, who is married to a fellow officer. No official action by the sheriff has been taken, in fact, looks like it’s covered up from the public. Why should we care? Because the Sheriff’s Department is well known for cover ups.
BACKPEDALING FAUXHOPE
The backwards backpedaling Fauxhope City Council had to eat crow when it came to eliminating public participation at council meetings. Of course the matter of free speech and public participation was front and center when they denied yours truly the right to speak. The public outcry was resounding and the council got the message loud and clear. Councilman Jack Burrell threw Councilman Martin under the bus. Jack said he was surprised to see the item on the agenda.
FAIRHOPE FREE YEAR
I bet only 1 or 2 % of the voters in Fairhope know that not one city council person, the mayor or the appointed municipal attorney and municipal judge have been elected or appointed for there 5th year in office. The Alabama legislature thought it necessary to postpone municipal elections in 2024 due to the presidential election. A free year in office, full family insurance and the ability to make decisions for Fairhope’s future, without a single vote cast.
Fairhope Infrastructure
In Fairhope, Alabama, there’s a water shortage, incomplete infrastructure projects, and an overloaded sewer system. Amidst legal battles and controversy, 68 Ventures proposes a new mixed-use development, “Park City,” which has drawn criticism for its potential impact on the community and local schools.
What the
Senator Katie Britt, once a darling in Alabama political circles, has become an SNL target. Recent events in Montgomery include discussions on the Gaming Bill, Medical Cannabis, School Choice, Alabama Works, and a New Ethics Law. A leaked police body cam footage led to charges against an officer. A love triangle between Alabama Power Company executives, The Matrix LLC, and the McCrary Institute at Auburn University, with a hefty one million dollar contract.

When will Baldwin County wake up and vote in new blood. The GOB, Good ole Boys, have a strangle hold on Baldwin County. They determine the candidates that will tow the line or raise their hand when told to do so. Sheriff Hoss Mack calls the shots and Mayors just bend over. The school system, Eddie and Gray, have job security guaranteed, as long as they go along. Their is no accountability or transparency as long as this cabal exists.
