Director Peterson has been raising this issue in council meeting after council meeting and, despite what Robert Brown says about funding issues, both he and Director Johnson have asked this Council to streamline the process for funding of projects. The Council – particularly Council President Burrell – has dismissed the process that these Directors have begged to implement regarding such requests. There is a work session or council meeting +/- six months ago where Director Johnson requested that the Council reconsider the way in which all projects, including infrastructure projects, are funded because the process in place (where Council President Burrell gets to keep his thumb on everything) creates a system that requires too many steps to fully fund approved projects and does not give Directors enough discretion to immediately address emergency situations. I believe Director Johnson gave an example of the process in either Daphne or the County or both as how things should work. Ripp, please find the video of that session and post it every time the Council claims they are doing their part to quickly fund these infrastructure needs.
The sewer issue has finally awaken Fairhope citizens. City hall has received numerous calls from irate citizens blaming the Mayor and City Staff for problems that squarely rest on the Council’s shoulders.

Where is the TIMELINE of the City Council? Citizens should be raising hell, but raise hell at the responsible party.

If the sewer issue pisses you off, how about three of the same Council using their elected office for personal gain? While the other two Council members turned a blind eye.

I know for a fact that the feds were in Fairhope for a couple years. What they were doing I don’t know but the rumor is Mayor Kant was caught with his hand in the cookie jar along with his pals. Nobody has been arrested in public office in Fairhope ever. This is gonna be big if so.
This rumor of the feds has been going on for some time. I don’t think there is anything behind this. If was anything to this, it would have been covered in the news by now. Even in our poorly-covered local news.

This council will be swept out of office next election. Their phony Christian Conservative values that are owned by the developers that have trashed this town has been seen by the voters
I am well aware of the council not allowing sewer upgrades because they wanted to make the mayor look bad and were too beholding to the developers that paid for their campaigns through Boone’s political “consulting” outfit
The Mayor has been working to upgrade the utilities since she was in office. The council just wanted to stymie her
I hope that you are correct but I am afraid that the ‘Christians’ are still drinking the Burrell kool-aid. Old people in Fairhope are convinced by their Church friends that Mayor Wilson is the source of all of the woes of their world. (Women should stay home and keep their mouths shut, right?) They will pop up to vote for Burrell again because be pastes on that phony smile and pretends to be concerned over their plights and they will probably die before they wise up and recognize that Mayor Kant and Jack Burrell caused most of their problems. However, I remain hopeful that you are totally right!

You know that windmill and barn thing going up on 181 across from Old Field? There is going to be over 900 houses going in there. That means about an extra 1,500 more cars dumping out on 181 each day. That means thousands of gallons of extra sewage to be dumped into Mobile Bay.
Just how much are the developers going to be allowed to continue to stress this place before the people say enough? It sure wont be the politicians – they actually work for the developers and not the voters.
I guess the residents here deserve this with their apathy
