TOP 10 QUESTIONS for Sherry Sullivan and the general public.
By now you all have heard these weak knee interviews of soft ball questions from Fairhope candidates running for office. In Fairhope we have a fired employee who sued the city, running for Mayor, for all the wrong reasons.
Sherry Sullivan who worked under Mayor Cant for almost 16 years. Cant lost and Sherry was fired, as a result of that CATALYST was born. A political group of good ole boys who have brazening labeled themselves and are supported by developers and the profiteers that follow.
Sherry and the 3 B’s are CATALYST/Scott Boone Consulting candidates, financed by the very people degrading our quality of life, property values and schools.
THESE QUESTIONS ARE REAL, THIS HAPPENED:
Can Sherry Sullivan answer the first 10 questions honestly?
I bet not.
You as voters of FAIRHOPE should at least know the questions.
1. If you were elected Mayor and you found out you had three employees colluding with one another to obstruct your efforts as Mayor — what would you do?
2. What would you do if you had 3 employees that had taken city documents, without authority, and then shared the same documents with your political rivals and tabloid press?
3. What would you do if, as Mayor, you found out the City Attorney and at least 3 City Council members were colluding with one another on ways to make you look incompetent or corrupt?
4. What would you do if a citizen of the community was assaulted, on video, and the appointed Municipal Judge and City Attorney, repeatedly dropped the ball until the assault charge disappeared?
5. What would you do if, as Mayor you knew a council person used their office for personal gain?
6. What would you do if you were made aware of a council person voting on issues where the same council person had interests in those issues he voted on, that were hidden in multiple LLC’s, unknown by the general public?
7. What would you do if a council person had a police record that had not been disclosed before the council person was elected?
8. What would you do if 3 members of the council spent $2,650,000 on recreation land without having a dime for improvements and then they leased the land for $9,000 a year?
9. What would you do, as Mayor, if a State Senator came to you to obtain a BP contract and municipal contracts that personally and financially benefited the elected State Senator?
10. What would you do with the Triangle property? Do you favor a conservation easement?

In your previous position you outlined a budget for parks and recreation. It was discover later football couches were being supplemented in their salary during the summer as a “summer camp” hidden in a line item you created.
During the previous administration the Mayor and State Senator were involved in a BP contract that was unethical, and probably illegal. What was your position?
Would you explain your connection with Kevin Boone, Scott Boone and Catalyst?
What would you do with the K-1 center and Nix center considering the council has done nothing since purchase?
What would be your long range plans with city hall which is in need of major repairs such as a roof?
What would your position be if you found out a council person was voting on issues he had a financial interest in? Would you file an ethics complaint?
Do you think board members, be it the airport or art center, should be able to bid on issues related to the same board?
Do you favor districts? Over open seats without specific representation for city council?

Currently the Mayor does not sit on the Planning and Zoning board. Would you continue that plan?

I have read the reports from the investigation into Sullivan and Fidler(not sure of her spelling),and have not seen any proof of wrong doing on any part except Mayor Wilson’s along with her own paranoia. She has ever admitted her wrong doing in an email. Ripp, why haven’t you posted that? You say you are for the public, yet you are extremely biased. Why are you covering up for Mayor Wilson’s wrong doing? Why have you not ever investigated the allegations against her? If you are truly against corruption then you should be investigating all sides. But as far as I can see, for the past 10 years the only corruption happening is when its something you don’t like. You started really hammering away at the Fairhope city council when a new development (that I was not for) and fire station came to your neighbor hood. Funny how you never tell the honest truth about whomever you are endorsing. How about you answer some questions. How come the investigations you are so happy to post never involve the other side, probably because it would put you and them in a very bad light.

I was involved way before the fire station and publix. You want me to investigate Wilson, for what? the issues mentioned have been investigated, not by me but authorities, no crime was committed. Remember most of the allegations against Wilson involve city management. NO allegations exist of her using her office for personal gain, something the 3 B’s cannot say.
Let me add that Sullivan, Pandora and Fidler were fired for insubordination. They were colluding with the council to obstruct the Mayor. The Mayor gave them the opportunity to get on board with the new administration, they decided not to accept the election results and to disrupt the operations of the city. They cooperated with the council to provide NO, absolutely NO information to Mayor Wilson about the previous administration projects, infrastructure, or going business.They deserved to be fired and they worked hard at being fired.

In 2008, I was standing on the corner of 181 and Fairhope Avenue holding a sign with my name on it, running for mayor when Paul Ripp pulled up in a volkswagen
jetta and got out and introduced himself. He explained he was a consumer advocate and that he was interviewing all of the mayoral candidates,
running for mayor in Fairhope. He asked if we could have a cup of coffee. I said sure, that I had planned on getting my oil changed, and that he could follow me
and we could ride together to Waffle House. I was meeting everyone at this time and I had no concerns of riding with Mr. Ripp to Waffle House on Highway 98 (Greeno Rd.).
Paul Ripp told me that me standing on the corner “took serious balls.” I thought that was funny at the time, but I remarked to him that it was not easy. I stated that
for the first ten minutes I did it, I felt like, “I wanted my Mama!”
Paul explained to me that back in 2004 or 2005, Mayor Kant had screwed him over in a land deal, disallowing the separation of a piece of property he owned, preventing him from
building on one lot and selling the other. He explained he took Mayor Kant to court and won. He further explained that when he picked up his settlement check
for punitive damages from the city awarded to him in court, that he asked to speak to the mayor.
Ripp told Mayor Kant that he was going to work until he defeated him and got him out of public office. Paul, never one to be deterred, finally defeated Mayor Kant in 2016,
helping to elect Karin Wilson, Fairhope’s first woman mayor.
In 2009, after I completed the book about Healthsouth with Aaron Beam, Paul Ripp, through a friend, got me a speaking engagement with the Birmingham Sunrise Rotary
at the Vulcan Museum on top of Red Mountain in Birmingham. On December 19, 2009, I spoke to the Rotary Club about “The Wagon to Disaster” the true crime story
I penned with CFO Aaron Beam. After that speech, I was met in the parking lot by Joe Gilchrist’s older brother, David, now deceased. David insisted that I meet his
fascinating brother, Joe…that he had “lived five lifetimes.” I asked him what his brother Joe did. He replied, “He owns Flora-Bama.”
So meeting Paul Ripp changed the course of my writing career and gave me a wonderful life pursuing what I love…telling stories.
Paul Ripp is the kind of guy that makes things happen. He is also the kind of guy
that has no fear and never gives up. Because of this, one would want to be on his good side, rather than the alternative.
I am glad I am on Paul’s good side, like the City of Fairhope.
Also, don’t forget that Paul Ripp ended the rigging of the elections by Mayor Kant’s father in law. This stopped when Ripp brought down the Secretary of State’s legal rep to oversee the counting of the ballots.
And voila…Karin Wilson was elected the first female mayor of Fairhope.
Also, remember that Ripp endorsed the three Bees last time.
This time around …
They are on their own.
