POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK

You ever notice how self righteous hypocrites love to gloat about other peopleโ€™s problems, while ignoring those in their own state or community.

https://www.alreporter.com/2022/02/18/how-tallassee-went-crazy/

Politicians always deflect questions about corruption by saying another state is worse, or corruption is everywhere.

Some media outlets in Alabama avoid corruption stories because it will affect their bottom line, be it money or access to fluff stories. The same media will flock like vultures to a story โ€œacceptableโ€, to run with. To be acceptable it has to be a vulnerable target, not particularly politically connected.

https://lagniappemobile.com/prichard-water-board-financial-manager-received-pay-raise-after-alleged-fraud/

โ€œMy report represents approximately 20 percent of what I believe could be a $1.5 million or more fraud,โ€ they wrote. โ€œIn my professional opinion, this may eventually lead to embezzlement, mail fraud, wire fraud and credit card fraud charges.โ€

This is a classic example of fair game corruption. However the same media will refuse to cover highly public corruption. Why? Because they are monetized and in Alabama corruption can cross party lines. Both parties covering for one another for fear of how their bottom line is affected or fear of losing contact with political hacks that provide free air time.

I listen to Jeff Poor show and read Alabama Political Reporter and both weave and dodge the most serious problem Alabama has, CORRUPTION. They cover national politics like Washington was in Alabama, yet ignore Alabama corruption on the highest level.

Former State Senator Tripp Pittman is often the political spokesman for the Jeff Poor show. This is the same senator who took $750,000.00 of B.P. money while he was the trustee of the funds. Baldwin County as a whole lost millions of B.P. money due to Mr. Pittman and a worthless legislative delegation. Yet he is the spokesman?

Why donโ€™t they cover the ethics director?

https://lagniappemobile.com/self-dealing-ethics-directors-kids-tuition-paid-from-trust-he-oversees/

โ€œAs director of the Alabama Ethics Commission, Tom Albritton is the stateโ€™s policeman for conflicts of interest and ethical breaches that can arise throughout all levels of government, but having a private charitable trust he helps oversee pay more than $100,000 for his kidsโ€™ college tuition is raising questions about his own principles.โ€

The media should be ashamed but they have no shame.

WHERE IS THE MEDIA?

Lagniappe is the only publication who has the balls for investigative journalism and publishing the story regardless the stature of the individual. Alabama will not solve any of itโ€™s problems without getting serious about prosecution of political corruption.

  1. Oh Ripp, They are Christian Conservatives. Cut them some slack, will you?

  2. Daphne DAVE BERG | February 19, 2022 at 7:15 am |

I will not bow to Christian conservatives. I think the whole Christian thing in Baldwin County is fake. That’s right fake. I see these people go to church and then go after their neighbor’s wife. They are not true Christians in a Biblical sense. They are Alabama Christians and these folk lost their way a long time ago. They worship Nick Saban and name their dog after him. It’s a wacky state, 49th out of 50 states in every good category and first or second in everything bad. Do you really think Kay Ivey has any clue of what is going on? I mean the woman is kept. Alabama really has no hope but here we are. We moved here 17 years ago from Iowa. The town was started by Iowans. Now it is overrun. The locals all say they are happy with the jobs and new construction. Hold my beer.

Trip Pittman said he didn’t do anything.
    He was investigated.
Nothing happened. Mr. Ripp why do you try and make things true that are just not true.

    Trip is a good man.
    A Christian.

I know this goes against what you stand for. But please practice what you preach.

You are missing the point, Dave Berg. You go to church, maybe lead a Bible study class, and be seen in church- preferably a big church that has lots of people and is in style. The people see you as a Christian and a Conservative as well
Then, you get vetted by Catalyst (or whatever it calls itself these days) and sell out to Cox and the developers. You get elected.
So what if you โ€œsinโ€ a little along the way? That is what church is for. Oversee a trust fund that finds your childrenโ€™s college? No bid contracts to your buddies? Impose a moratorium after you have approved your friendsโ€™ subdivisions? Keep a minority part of town from coming in the city limits to keep the value down and then you can buy it on the backend at a discount ? ALL OF THIS IS NO PROBLEM when you are connected to Elliot Haygood, Stacy/ Catalyst/SCB.
Just look for the plastic pipe signs along the road. You will see the membership list one name at a time
This is what being a Christian Conservative is all about here in Alabama

    • Not just a Christian but a Christian Conservative too.

  4. Catalyst fan | February 19, 2022 at 4:36 pm |

Trip was found innocent as I recall

  5. No evidence. No charges.
    Like Hilldog.
    Your demonic wench savior.

    • I have drunk the koolaid
Wow. Our politicians are our leaders. They are Christian conservatives. They are good men. They care. They are good. They want what is good. They talk to god. Ripp is liberal and evil
I must sign up to Elliotโ€™s Bible study

    • Hey Fred, Ripp speaks the truth
You can make your hit and run comments to troll Ripp but we know too much for you to insult us with your tropes
You cowards never answer back to the rebuttals because you are weak, sell outs. Go and suck off of Boone and Coxโ€™s tits for your next meal
When you are through get your next manhood shot from Armstrong.
Too bad you do not know what real men are like

  6. Jody P. Freely | February 20, 2022 at 4:38 am |

Trip Pittman is up for some type of good government award. Flowers was talking about it in his statewide column.

  7. DAVE BERG
Stop fighting it and drink the koolaid. It will be bitter at first but the koolaid will go down smoothly. Soon your views will change. Yiu will see the politicians not as the crooks they are but as Christian conservatives
You will not see your taxes going up, more traffic jams, crowded schools, sewer overflows, and the overgrowth of this area. But you will see our Christian officials praying in public meetings, going against liberals Don Quixote going against windmills as their straw men.
You must first drink the koolaid.

Let’s see…Ripp fights corrpution in Baldwin County but turns a blinds eye to the crap in DC. Yes you see…he’s a liberal…just like our Covidian masters.

    • Tina, this is a LOCAL website. There is no local news media anymore covering local news except for the Shoe Station Daily that was once known as the Mobile Press Register
Gulf News Media is just a joke. Fairhope Times is good at covering streets closing due to popes being laid under Church Street and stays out of REAL investigating news
This leaves Ripp to cover the politics of the local politicians. Ripp does not cover Washington politics because that is what MSNBC and Fox News is for. Watch whatever you want to get your echo chamber to reinforce your views. So that leaves Ripp to cover local. Even if Ripp is a Democrat, locally it does not matter
Tina, are you another Catalyst troll? I will take your silence as confirmation
BOOM! You just got owned! Now run to Boone and tell him you got tagged and have him send another troll to make a futile run against Ripp

      • Catalyst is Evil | February 23, 2022 at 5:46 am |

As was previously said, when you call out these trolls, they never answer back when called out.

screw Tirp Pittman. The guy is a tub of lard. The real criminal in our midst is Burrell. He made millions him and the council off that land deal. How they got away with that and then leased the land after the sale? What is wrong with law enforcement? Can’t someone call the cops? Alabama is so backward ass.

The land deal was perfectly legal. You can buy and lease land in Alabama. You people live in a fantasy land. Ripp World. Strange.

  12. “Alabama is so backward ass”
“You just cannot beat this bunch”
“49th out of 50 states in every good category and first or second in everything bad. Do you really think Kay Ivey has any clue of what is going on? Alabama really has no hope but here we are. We moved here 17 years ago from Iowa.”

I don’t understand why you stay here. You have to be miserable. From what you say, you can’t do anything about it. Why not move?

  13. I appreciate this web page. Few people realize how super corrupt this area is. It has been a plaything of the Alabama elites since Bear Bryant was Alabama Football Coach. He hunted in Magnolia Springs and enjoyed the area. Once everybody got smart and moved down here it became popular. The elites never thought their playground would be a tax collector.

The bad thing about Alabama is that it is the absolute worst when it comes to its natural environment. There is no care for environmental pollution or neglect of duty. Alabama is a polluted state because the politicians don’t care. They sold out to business long ago.

So let’s talk turds. I went to the Fairhope Pier yesterday. Walked to the end. Tested the water with a simple water quality tester that anyone can purchase on the Internet.

Fecal coli was off the chart. The water is NOT fit to swim or fish. I am not trying to scare anyone but the bay water is NASTY.

    Forewarned is forearmed.

    POOP in the bay.

  14. anon voter new | February 22, 2022 at 3:05 pm |

Well when you pump crap in the bay for 50 years this is what you get.

  15. Speaking of pumping crap, what about Kaye Ivey? Is she really gonna walk in again? A third term? My God please.

  16. Catalyst Converter | February 23, 2022 at 12:50 pm |

Kaye Ivey is a God fearing woman of purpose, virtue and integrity. She has been great for Alabama.

    • Montgomery Minion | February 24, 2022 at 6:45 am |

Kay Ivey is a puppet to the Business Council of Alabama. They appoint her staff for her and tell her what to do.
They tried to take over education bu changing an elected State Board of Education with appointed lakeys but that went down 2 to 1 in the last election
Governor Mee Maw might be a sweet lady but she is on a leash to the BCA

  17. The sheriff has several lawsuits against him. Any word on justice for the victims who died?
