Jack Burrell is like a pop up target. He is involved in one controversy after the other. The newest “sketchy and secretive” project is the K-1 Center. I eluded to it in the last post under B.
FACT and FICTION A B C
FACT and FICTION A B C | THE RIPP REPORT / BALDWIN COUNTY LEGAL EAGLE
Hard to tell what the truth is these days but some information leaking out, if true, will set Fairhope’s hair on fire. A. Jack Burrell denied, on WACO radio, any party was held at his house. He…
The council, led by Jack have been discussing, in private and in secrete meetings, plans for the K-1 Center. Jack, without disclosing anything with the public, wrote a letter of intent to the School Board.
The Mayor nor the public have been informed about any details or letter of intent.

The council wants to keep this under wraps and eliminate any competitive projects from public view. This is the kind of crap the council and council president have been doing for two years.
The Citizens of Fairhope deserve to see what other options have been submitted. The below article is the first public coverage of what appears to be a far better plan.
Take a look at the comparisons of the two projects:
Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance is aware of both projects, it will be interesting what’s their take on the two proposals. Keep in mind BCEDA has not been able to find a home for the Mega-Site.
DEAD LAST
DEAD LAST | THE RIPP REPORT / BALDWIN COUNTY LEGAL EAGLE
Mid term elections will again bring up all the advantages of the Baldwin County Mega site. Politicians, county commissioners and their hacks, all on board with the annual round of promises that the…
BCEDA is funded by:
We are truly an alliance in Baldwin County, being funded and supported by our county government, 14 municipalities, 5 Chambers of Commerce, 8 Industrial Development Boards, and over 100 privately owned businesses. We have 17 voting members on our board of directors, of which each of our 5 Chambers of Commerce appoints three members in staggering terms. Additionally, our board consists of two ex-officio members, which are a rotating Mayor and County Commissioner each year.
Let’s see if the City Council and BCEDA are truthful with the citizens that financially support them and elect them to office.
Ask Yourself why has the City Council not allowed public participation related to the TWO projects?
Beware of the pop up target.
I am not sure that I understand where the numbers in the above comparison originated, but a boutique hotel would be a wonderful addition to downtown! I hope that it comes to fruition!
Great place for the next Catalyst Convention
BOUTIQUE HOTEL!! Give us all a break! Since you brought that up then please explain to us what you think a BOUTIQUE HOTEL is!! Sounds like something Kelley Lyons or her sister Karin would think was a wonderful idea! Or maybe their Mother Marcia Mathis!
Seriously, have you not heard of the rise in popularity of boutique hotels worldwide over the past decade, or are you just taking a swipe at the Mayor and her family because they want the best for Fairhope? The Marriott is wonderful but a lot of people like to stay downtown and the Hampton is always full. It would be the best thing for that location IMHO!
FBI still in town. Fema. Think.
Tic tac toe
Oh stop it with the FBI. There is nothing to see here. If the feds are in town it is because they want to get out of the office in Mobile and come over here
Other than that this is a tired old story
Tic tac toe,
I do not like it when our elected officials make sweetheart deals with each other and we taxpayers fund their projects without going public. I will vote them out next election
No kidding. Hope that Fairhope votes for a City Manager next month b/c that will remove the politics from decisions. A City Manager is a professional and will not tarnish his/her resume with small time politics.
Who is Kant gonna sell out first?
Boone or Burrell?
He already sold us out
$40 million + ???? How big a hotel? And the K-1 center is leveled?
