Two Independent Women Challenge the Machine

Dear Baldwin County Voters,

Most citizens know corruption is rampant in our community.

Our local councils, the County Commission and certain judgeships, are represented by dubious individuals. We appear concerned about our schools and the threat of crime. However, we ignore and have come to accept, political corruption at every level. In reality, political corruption costs us more in taxpayer dollars lost than all property crimes combined.

We have become so apathetic and careless that the only time we speak of corruption to our neighbors is over a drink, in the gym, or watching the kid’s soccer game. As long as this continues, the political corruption will continue; and our quality of life will continue to suffer. We cannot relinquish our constitutional right to vote people in and out of office. Because of hyper-partisanship, there is little crossover voting. However, more independents are challenging incumbents than ever before. We first and foremost must prevent incumbents from running uncontested for re-election.

Two Independent Women are Running for Office

Ginger Poynter, of Daphne, is running for judge place one. A fresh face, she is an experienced attorney and prosecutor. Her only fault is that she was deemed by the republican party apparatus of Alabama, as “not republican enough.”

Kim Mccuiston, of Foley, is running for Senate District 32. A mother, grandmother and former educator, she is a noted environmental activist and has been called “Alabama’s Erin Brockovich.” She is trying to get on the ballot to face incumbent Senator Lee “Slippery Trip” Pittman, who has no opposition.

In order to qualify as independents these women need approximately 2,000 voter signatures.

The media is not covering any of this, as they don’t cover anything anymore. Nevertheless, the end result of these two races involving female candidates will greatly impact us living in Baldwin County.

Here is What We Must Do: Get These Two Women on the Ballot!

Please see the attached petitions for both of these women candidates—which we need more of, in my opinion. Please print these petitions and ask your family and friends to sign them and also to get involved. Mail all the signed petitions in BEFORE June 1, 2014. Whether it is two signatures, or twenty, every one counts. Simply mail in the original, signed petitions to the following addresses:
