Sheriff and Commission Races - Fighting the Machine

Sheriff and Commission Races - Fighting the Machine

May 16, 2014 Ripp Report #14

Dear Baldwin County Registered Voters,

In two weeks you will cast your vote for Sheriff and three county commission seats.

This report aims to provide voters with information the newspapers no longer provide—as a public service to its readers. It seems legitimate newspapers are dying faster than honest politicians; and it is by design, as the enemy now owns the media.

Over the last two months concerned citizens have worked to get two women running as independents, Kim McCuiston of Foley (State Senate District 32) and Ginger Poynter of Daphne (Family Court Place 1) on the ballot. In order to do this petitions of signatures representing 3 percent of the registered votes cast in the last election had to be filled out. This is no easy task.

Each candidate is close to their goal, and needs just a little help over the final 21 days to reach their mark. We have had a tremendous response, particularly in Montrose—where we’ve gotten over 90 signatures, and of course in Fairhope, through our many hundreds of Art Walk friends. Thank you!

Have you signed a petition? Act while you still have time! Make a difference in local politics by helping TWO WOMEN! Please print and sign the petitions and mail them in TODAY!

When these gutsy, hard-working females qualify on June 3rd—with your help—they will make history. Baldwin County has never had two women qualify to appear on the ballot as independents. The local and state controlled media, which has completely ignored this important story, will have no choice but to write about it. It is just a matter of time until everyone is talking about history being made in Baldwin County—about the two women boldly taking on the corrupt, Baldwin County establishment protected by the dying news media.

THE RACES:

Sheriff’s Race:

Candidates: Huey Mack, Larry Milstid, Jeff Dunn

Huey Mack is a disappointment. The son of the former Baldwin County coroner, Little Huey rode his daddy’s coat tails into office. After eight fretful years, citizens have had enough. The prospect of four more years of “Hoss” is enough to make you “toss,” your lunch. If Hoss isn’t cutting eleventh hour, backroom deals with “Slippery Trip” Pittman to unfairly limit sheriff opposition to 400 people, he’s busy buying expensive toys like the goofy MRAP on the taxpayer dime. Lil Huey has been tied to the local political machine led by ‘fixit man’ Lynn Stacey and his cohorts, that is ruining Baldwin County. It is indeed time to “Toss Boss Hoss” and his corrupt, shady friends. More on that in a bit.

Larry Milstid is a former Sheriff’s deputy with managerial experience. He worked hard over the last year to get his name out among the rural county. He wants to end the current Sheriff’s terror reign and usher in a fairer, more effective process. However, at second glance it appears that Mr. Milstid, the candidate, is not without concern. He is listed as one of the incorporators of Baldwin County Court Services, INC., an enterprise that does business with the court. Using your office or your public standing to engage in business with the local government or governments you serve is unethical. Mr. Milstid replied to my inquiry regarding this that he is no longer associated with this business entity and no longer receives monetary compensation for it. See for yourself the business listing updated recently in April 2014: http://www.bizapedia.com/al/BALDWIN-COUNTY-COURT-SERVICES-INC.html

Jeff Dunn is a former Baldwin County Sheriff’s patrol deputy and narcotics investigator. He currently works as an investigator in the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office. Dunn is a gentleman and a straight shooter, and shares many of the concerns we all have about the sheriff’s office–that it is being mismanaged. Dunn wants to return professionalism to the office and position, and we feel that he is the one for the job, as he is the unanimous choice of the deputies currently working on staff. Dunn also says he wants to make the sheriff’s office less militaristic and more of a true law enforcement agency, which is music to our ears.

In the Baldwin County commission race for place #2:

Bob James, a New Jersey native, is the incumbent. He is being challenged by newcomer Chris Elliott, from Mobile, and Cody Phillips, of Fairhope.

Bob “Five Fingers” James is the trusty bidness partner of Senator Lee “Slippery Trip” Pittman, a questionable character in his own right. When he first ran for the commission James said he would only seek one term. He is running for a third. James and his friends on the county commission, Frank Burt and Tucker Dorsey, fired emergency management director Leigh Ann Ryals, county administrator Michael Thompson and head legal representative Scott Barnett for doing their jobs–pointing out that it was unethical for Pittman Tractor to get the Fairhope BP Oil Boom contract in 2010. James also said that we should bury people in the county landfill, thus the nickname Bob “Buryeminthedump” James. In this race it appears that Bob is just running to go through the motions…that Lynn Stacey’s machine has tabbed James’ opponent as the “heir apparent” to his place two seat. For these reasons you must Avoid Bob James…like the county morgue.

Chris Elliott is as shifty as his handler, his business associate Lynn Stacey, with whom he owns a political consulting business in Mobile. I tried repeatedly to get in touch with Mr. Elliot to question him regarding his background, and supporters. He declined three attempts to communicate with me. Because of this I am confident that Mr. Elliott is a shill for the machine. If you want more of the same on the commission, more corruption and more disappointment—then vote for the man from Mobile the machine has tabbed to help them maintain their control the county commission.

Cody Phillips is a fresh face. A former employee of one of Alabama’s most progressive municipalities, the City of Madison, he is duly qualified. Cody has none of the baggage as his opponents and he is the only candidate in this race not tied to Lynn Stacy and the machine. Because of that he is the unanimous choice for the office.

County Commission Place 3

Tucker Dorsey, the incumbent, versus William McDaniel, the challenger

Summerdale resident Tucker Dorsey sided with Slippery Trip Pittman, Frank Burt and Bob James on the BP Boom Scandal, firing capable county administrators for doing their jobs, hoping to cover up the crime. Dorsey is known to cavort with Lynn Stacey, meaning he is part of the bad guy team we are trying to warn you about. Tucker also voted to double his pay as commissioner. Like the others, Jasper T. Dorsey should be avoided at all costs, as he is out only for himself and the interests of the machine.

William McDaniel is a third generation Baldwin Countian and resident of Robertsdale. He is an emergency room nurse at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Alabama. William has had a life of service in his capacity at the emergency room, caring for those in need. William is a simple man with a simple intention: restore honesty and integrity to the county commission. William is our best choice and I am confident he will serve us honorably.

County Commission Place 4

Charles Gruber, the incumbent, versus Brock Wells, the challenger

Charles Gruber is probably the best of the bunch we have now, but he has been spoiled by his association with Lynn Stacey and the machine during this campaign. His advocacy for the doubling of commissioner pay, is also troubling. This too was supported by Slippery Trip Pittman, who authored the legislation to allow the salary increase. Wells is running for the first time. We must vote for him and hope for the best. We have no alternative.

Beware of Lynn Stacey and Sick Six. This alliance, if successful, would give Senator Lee Pittman control of the Sheriff’s office, the County Commission and the City of Fairhope. Pittman, Hoss Mack, Jasper Tucker Dorsey, Chris Elliott, Bob James and Charles Gruber are in a solid pact to take control of the Baldwin County government. If you let this happen you have no one to blame but yourself. These Six Sickos represent what is wrong with Baldwin County and they must all be defeated.

Stay tuned for the next Ripp Report…it will enlighten you in new ways.
