Alabama has hit rock bottom when it comes to any type of government oversight. We have become a failed state. A governor that is absent and sometimes incoherent. An Attorney General that is out of sight most of the time and never responds to complaints instead he passes them to the Bar and Ethics for them to dispose of.

The Alabama Bar is a disgrace whose major function is to protect dirty lawyers. They have weaponized the Bar as an instrument to exact their judgment on attorneys that do not go along with the program. Those in favor can do no wrong and have a pass to break the law.

Today we are joined by Jeanetta Pleasant JD, Katherine Church, and Beverly Barber JD, all of whom have had a bad experience with the Alabama State Bar and the personalities who haunt the halls. We discuss their individual experiences/outcomes and those of Montgomery Attorney Thomas Gallion III, now of Destin, Florida. Tommy is a particularly shocking case of “show me the man and I will show you the crime”. And Tommy’s Florida lawsuit complaint against these bad actors/public servants is like a bad movies script, right down to a kickback scheme with outside Counsel and sexual blackmail for looking the other way. And there are the 17 ethics violations that come from the Church ethics complaints that Mr McCallum has nary a word in his disciplinary record about as he was the Executive Director of the Alabama State Bar when these occurred. Reinforced by 12 bar complaints filed by Harry Still in 2022 that included Roman Shaw, Jeremy McIntyre, and Phillip McCallum.

Then we have the Alabama Ethics Commission who’s director Tom Albritton has been “stealing” some say “self dealing” or “diverting” children’s scholarship money, from the Mabel Amos Memorial Trust, for over 12 years. Allbrittion is the Alabama poster boy for in your face political corruption. That he should in any way be evaluating ethics complaints is laughable and an embarrassment to the citizens of Alabama.

Transparency, Accountability, Bar Complaint, Ethics complaint, Attorney General, plea to Governor it is all total bullshit. As a citizen you are wasting your time with expecting any justice. Alabama is a failed state and we are considering an out of state resident for Governor. If that happens we will go further down the toilet.

“White’s report is particularly critical of disbursements that went to children of people closely connected to the Albritton Law, including Albritton himself, whose son and daughter received a combined total of $135,000 in scholarships, according to the report. Those distributions to his children began in 2012 — three years before he was chosen to lead the Alabama Ethics Commission — but continued until 2019, four years after he took his position as the state’s ethics enforcer.”

White’s report, however, claims self-dealing is exactly what took place, citing violations of three articles of the fund’s formation.

“Disbursements on behalf of students appear to violate Article V, part E and F as it relates to personal inurement and self-dealing. Particularly, when scholarships are awarded to the children of the members of the Board and associates of the members of the Board. There were several scholarships awarded by the Trust that fit into that category and totaled $257,844,” White wrote.”

If the Ethics Director is allowed to keep his position, avoid any prosecution or accountability, then ladies and gentleman it is proof positive that we are the most politically corrupt state in the United States.

In a filing this Tuesday, Attorney General Steve Marshall alleged in a Civil Filing that Alabama Ethics Commission Director Tom Albritton improperly benefited from a Trust where Albritton was a “Trustee”, The Mabel Amos Memorial Scholarship Trust from which Albritton’s children received over $100,000. Mr. Ripp made allegations including an Ethics Complaint against the Ethics Commission, a Bar Complaint against Mr. Albritton regarding the matter, a Writ of Mandamus in Circuit Court of Montgomery County to get a Judge to Order the Ethics Commission to review three of his complaints that Mr. Albritton disposed of without investigation; and the basis of his Writ was that Mr. Albritton was involved in self dealing as a Trustee of these very scholarship funds. That was in 2021. in 2022 Mr. Still ran for Attorney General of the State of Alabama (R-Baldwin) against Mr. Marshall (R-Incumbent) and made numerous stump speeches about the Ethics Commission, the Mabel Amos Trust, and Mr. Albritton’s activities.

So why is it that he is still the Director? That is the question we address. Tom Albritton should resign.
