Primary Election Endorsements - Vote Out the Machine

May 24, 2014 Ripp Report #15

Dear Baldwin County residents,

We are now ten days out from the June 3rd primary. It is important that you and your friends discuss these races as voting day approaches. Political corruption in Baldwin County is rampant. Only the people—through voting—can make a difference. There are those who are apathetic due to decades-long allegations of voter fraud and vote-fixing inside the county election apparatus. I can assure you the Feds have heard these allegations. Rest assured.

As the primary closes in, the exposure of certain traits and alliances are obvious. One common thread among the incumbents in question—the Sicko Six—is that their interpretation of public service, means public contracts for themselves and their misguided friends. Politicians cannot take public contracts that benefit them financially. The number one offender: Senator “Slippery Trip” Pittman, the “hack for Hoss Mack,” who maintains the emergency debris removal contract for the City of Fairhope, which is currently due for renewal and a full vote of the city council.

After being caught red-handed along with Mayor Kant in the BP Boom Scandal, the good senator said he would “not engage in public contracts” yet went on to garner even more lucrative public deals against state ethics laws. The senator’s next dubious move was to double the county commission’s pay. Tucker Dorsey, Bob James and Charles Gruber now become an integral part of the “Sicko Six.”

Pittman then moves to regulate who can run for Sheriff in Baldwin County, while backing Huey Mack, making sure that he had little competition—only 400 total law enforcement officers were eligible to run as a result, seriously limiting competition for Lil Huey.

Mr. Pittman’s latest statement is that he realizes the measure is unconstitutional. So, Mr. Pittman is telling us that he maneuvered legislation to be approved that he KNEW was unconstitutional?

So now Mr. Pittman has the Baldwin County Commission and the Sherfiff’s Department right where he wants them. If they are re-elected, they will all have a license to steal. The entire group is being managed by Mr. Lynn Stacey and fully endorsed by Mayor Tim Kant. Birds of a feather my friends…if you cannot see what is going on you are blind. Our county has got to do better than this. Our children and grand children deserve much better.

We are the number one producing county in Alabama. We pay one third of the state’s taxes and have $3.5 billion in income from beach tourism. We cannot allow our county to be managed so poorly.

Do Not Forget the BP Boom Grant Scandal in Fairhope. Mr. Pittman, Tucker Dorsey and Bob James orchestrated the firing of Emergency Management Director Leigh Ann Ryals, county administrator Michael Thompson, the legal department (Scott Barnett) and other key administrators.

This was done to cover up Pittman and Kant’s crime of stealing the boom grant—even when they were told not to. We will have a little bombshell on Memorial Day for you. Hopefully it something you will remember when it’s time to vote in a few days. And in closing, let me assure you that Mr. Pittman and Mayor Kant are actively being investigated as you read this missive.

If you would like to read more about Slippery Trip and Mayor Kant’s crime, please refer to the complaint submitted to the Alabama Ethics Commission and copied to every major and minor media outlet in the country. Max Shelby at the Alabama Corruption Blogspot covered it well: http://alabamacorruption.blogspot.com/search?q=trip+pittman+ethics+complaint

In closing we must seek and vote for new blood in our local politics, while maintaining a two-term limit.

The Ripp Report endorses the following candidates:

  • Kimberly McCuiston - State Senate Seat 32 (November 4, 2014)
  • Ginger Poynter - Family Court Judge Place 1 (November 4, 2014)
  • Jeff Dunn - Sheriff (June 3, 2014)
  • William McDaniel - county commission
  • Cody Phillips - county commission
  • Brock Wells - county commission

Please note our six candidates have no conflicts of interest, unlike their opponents, and are all new to politics.
