Fairhope has awarded Senator Pittman, our state representative, approximately 6 lucrative municipal contracts, while he represents us? Currently a member of Fairhope Planning and Zoning is enjoying multiple construction contracts with the city, building sidewalks and renovation on bathrooms on the pier. Our City Council and Mayor see no conflict of Interest. The Soccer Fields Scandal How about this for a conflict of interest, or is it just doing business as usual. The proposed Fairhope soccer fields recently accepted bids for the project. Only ONE bidder submitted a bid, first red flag, for 2 million dollars. Then the council finds out they will need almost 5 million to do the job. Are they going to put it out for re-bid or just work with the lone bidder? How can any municipality accept a single bid for millions of dollars?
A shadow network of political operatives used secretive consulting firms to rig local elections and secure municipal contracts. Corporate filings tie prominent council members directly to engineering firms receiving millions in unbid city work. The Ripp Report pulls back the curtain on Baldwin County's most powerful political machine.
TO: The Alabama Ethics Commission, Hugh Evans presiding FROM: Francis Paul Ripp Dear Sirs and staffers: The Alabama Ethics Commission has become a corrupt political vehicle enabling elected officials to justify their unethical behavior. The AEC has been quoted in numerous media articles supporting the Mayor of Daphne, Baldwin County Commissioners, the Mayor of Fairhope, Senator Lee "Trip" Pittman and let's not leave out Alabama Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard. All of these elected officials have been involved in situations where public office was used for personal gain.
If you go to the Impressum button on my facebook page, "The Ripp Report," you will read the following: "Corruption has no place in a civilized society." No matter your political or religious beliefs, political corruption destroys our democracy and our community. This particular political corruption needs to be revisited: The April 2010, BP Oil Spill opened a Pandora's Box of political corruption in Fairhope. Our local politicians did not see black, gooey oil that destroys our pristine beaches, sea life and water quality.
Dear Ripp Report Readers in Fairhope and Baldwin County, Congratulations to Lynn Stacy and Chris Elliott and their major supporters—the Mayors of Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort. Well folks, as predicted, Lynn Stacy, "Fix it Man," has orchestrated his political consultant partner, Chris Elliott into the Baldwin County Commission. We now have the "Lynn Stacy County Commission." Isn't it amazing how his candidates NEVER lose? The defeated outcast, Bob James, A.K.A. "Five Fingers" James—"bury him in the dump," now wishes to be called "Just Bob." Just Bob promptly resigned. He did not want one more day in chambers with those who stabbed him in the back. Seems there was a huge rift in the former commission. "Just Bob" disagreed with Tucker "The Trucker" Dorsey over the MegaSite and how to spend BP money.
Key municipal board members exploited corrupt dual roles to hijack private community assets and silence public opposition. Meeting minutes reveal how insider trading of public land occurred behind closed doors without membership consent or proper votes. See how local power brokers stripped citizens of their democratic rights.
Dear everyone, The official primary results from June 3, 2014 will not be available till Friday. However it appears that the power structure prescribed by Lynn Stacy is alive and well. The county commission is going to have little change. This will empower the commissioners to do what they wish as there is no relevant media coverage. One of their ambitions is to bring like-minded municipalities of Baldwin County into their group; such as Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Fairhope—all three communities' mayors endorsed and pushed the candidates currently in office.
Fairhope officials allowed Lee Turner to wield double power on public boards while hiding high-stakes decisions behind closed doors. Leaked documents and meeting logs reveal how Turner threatened citizens with police force to conceal shady municipal deals. The Ripp Report exposes what they pretended not to know.
Jasper Dorsey is a micromanager. Spotted at the County Dump (Magnolia Landfill) in camouflage with binoculars spying on county employees, Dorsey ultimately took away their porn books, which they are still upset about. Jasper is also a Lynn Stacey "chosen one" and is running not only for county commissioner, but also for the State Republican Executive Committee—simultaneously. Let's not forget folks, how the chain of command goes: Tucker (Jasper) is again connected to Bob James and Lee "Slippery Trip" Pittman, who fired the county employee whistleblowers who exposed Mayor Kant and Trip's theft of the $639,000 boom grant from the City of Fairhope.
Senator Lee "Trip" Pittman via email, is endorsing his longtime business partner (in crime) Bob James, as county commissioner. Bob James and Senator Pittman have been annually passing back and forth the Fairhope Emergency Debris Removal contract since 2007. Currently, Senator Pittman has the contract, which has been extended to July 11, 2014, the contract bid deadline in Fairhope. All eyes will be on this contract, but do not be surprised if Bob or Slippery Trip end up once again as the low bidder on the job. Please remember—these two are both elected officials. Alabama ethics laws "preclude an elected official from using their office for personal financial gain."
