Published March 3rd 2022 Baldwin County is full of laughs lately. Politics can cause mental damage and in Baldwin County we need an insane asylum for a few of them. First we have the “TAX MAN” Chris Elliott, he prefers the title State Senator, saying he has solved the School separation lawsuit between Gulf Shores and Baldwin County Superintendent Eddie Tyler. The reason there is a lawsuit is that Mr Tyler went back on his published promise to abide by the decision of the State Board of Education. Elliott is also talking down development in public while his record supports all the development his CATALYST friends can get their hands on. Elliott was covering for Tyler, his partner on the penny tax, that no one got to vote on.
There are three branches of government in Alabama, but here in Baldwin County there is a cabal that controls who sits on our bench via political influence with the State Executive Branch coordinated right here... and not by any political party. Then there is the bombshell that Draft Kings (yes the gaming app) is supporting pro-gaming legislators for the upcoming 4 years and the creation of the Alabama Gaming Commission. And that they may be in negotiations with PCI Gaming (that would be the Porch Band of Creek Indians) related to a merger or acquisition. Check your mail box, you are the target.
Yes the "machine don't bleed". The age of Eddie Tyler and his merry band of ethically flexible attorneys and best pal consultants has come to an end. Lots of backstory to this one. And then there is the resignation letter of a 20 year Baldwin County Sheriffs Deputy who makes no explicit accusations only that "these are Ungodly men" running the place. And then there is the $16.3 Million we are spending on the Golden Triangle to build a bridge over Fish River and a boulevard for the benefit of one developer. Want to wager on who that developer is? Afroman wins a verdict for us all. And a tell of a trip to the Holy Land... by Mrs. Tom Bradley Jr (Pat Bradley) just in time for the war to kick off. Hear about her trip and exodus. And the War, weapons, logistics, energy, diplomacy, cow algorithms and Lemon Pound Cake is now the official food of the Libertarian Party.
Deputies and officers with the Sheriff department are sounding off about the sorry state of affairs within the department. Hoss Mack knew what he was doing when he dumped 20 years of problems on Lowery’s back. Now Lowery is bragging about the “CULTURE” he inherited, and adopted, from Hoss the Boss. Problem is that culture favors the good ole boys, aka GOB. The chain of command is arbitrary, accountability and transparency often disappears through favoritism. Internal cover-ups are a common practice. Sexual incidents within the department, from high ranking officers to patrol, would rival any soap opera.
It seems the Baldwin County Sheriff's Department has internal hanky panky problems. One of the top officers in the Sheriff's Department has been having a little extra curricular activity with a subordinate female employee, who is married to a fellow officer. No official action by the sheriff has been taken, in fact, looks like it's covered up from the public. Why should we care? Because the Sheriff's Department is well known for cover ups. The problem is that fellow officers are now wondering how this situation is not public and severe action has not been taken against the senior officer. The Ripp Report has had 3 different people call us giving us dates, names and ranks of the individuals involved. Let's see how Sheriff Hoss Mack is going to spin this sordid story.
EYES, That is all it takes to see the obvious. The good ole boy network, GOB, in Baldwin County is shameless, They know low voter turnout, constituent ignorance and the cabal of corrupt politicians, judges and lawyers will cover their ass. Good News: The GOB network is eroding and panicking at the obvious push back by the 14 incorporated municipalities within Baldwin County. In our last election concerned voters flipped 4 GOB municipalities. The biggest win was Bay Minette getting Bob Wills out of office. An investigation into his time as Mayor would take a bulldozer to turn over all the dirty laundry under his watch. Start with Steelwood and the new pipe line co??? Also ask him why he wants Harry Still silenced?
The Alabama Solution The Alabama Solution is a 2025 American documentary film directed by Andrew Jarecki and Charlotte Kaufman. It follows the prison system in Alabama from the perspective of incarcerated leaders. The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on January 28 and was released by HBO and HBO Max on October 10. At the 98th Academy Awards, it was nominated for Best Documentary.
A short but powerful read from Alabama Exposure and Accountability. The Framing of Murray Lawrence Jr. If this story appeared in a novel, readers would reject it as implausible. They would insist no justice system could allow failures this extensive across law enforcement, prosecutors, defense counsel, the courts and the prison system. But this is not fiction. Every part of this story is grounded in documented fact. After reading it, Fairhope, Baldwin County and the State of Alabama will never look the same.
This week we are joined by two guests. Richard Cox is running for Baldwin County Commission District 1. The other is Whitney Scapecchi (@wyopp) of Southern Freedom Press to tell us about the Faux Pas by Rep Donna Givens once again reminding us that this "Catalyst Cabal" is nothing fictitious. Be sure to read the Ripp Report regarding this matter as well "Summerdale Sunshine". Qualifying is over and the dirty politics we have all come to expect and enjoy like no where else on earth has begun. The Faux Pas subject matter political event went off in Summerdale without anything eventful happening expect that Huey Mack was the only person on the microphone except the band. The legislatives session is in week 3 and Brandon Moseley and the Alabama Gazette have us covered with the goings on in Montgomery.
“The developer will do whatever the hell he wants, without any accountability” THIS IS THE BACKSTORY TO GENERIC REPORTING: The culvert issue was first addressed by the Ripp Report and lawsuits filed against the city over the Publix project on Parker Road. The culverts, sewer lines, wetlands issues, drainage, proximity to Fly Creek ,county right a ways, city easements, tree survey missing, were just a few issues—Fauxhope did nothing—then allowed the apartments– same issues same no action—Now they are expanding building again behind apartments, the developer is given a green flag.
