NOT GUILTY - INNOCENT

On September 3 2025 Harry Still, a practicing attorney, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge in Bay Minette. A charge that usually requires the arresting officer to witness, which did not happen. The incident was a skirmish between two men who have known each other since childhood. Matt Franklin, a Bay Minette city councilman, was the other individual. This minor incident escalated when the Bay Minette Police decided to file a motion in circuit court to have Still committed to a mental institution. Circuit Court Judge Scott Tayor dismissed the motion.
State Senator Chris Elliott filed legislation to provide harsher punishment for attacking a local politician. Elliott went as far as saying that Still’s incident inspired him to seek such legislation. The legislation failed to pass. Elliott has been an embarrassment since first elected and caught multiple times lying to his constituents. He has remained in office through questionable pac’s and dark money, clouding even further his credibility.
All this happened before Still ever had his day in court. That day first came in Bay Minette municipal court where Judge Marcus McDowell found him guilty. McDowell is also the municipal attorney for Fairhope. McDowell should have recused himself because he was subject to Alabama Bar complaints from Still in the Ronan McSherry case which involved Mr McSherry assaulting several women, represented by Still. McDowell failed the women and Fairhope by not doing his job and lying to the Mayor and City Council when he pledged to follow through with the legal process, which he failed to do.
Yours truly attended the Bay Minette trial which in my opinion was McDowell’s opportunity to get even with Still. He did so even though Councilman Franklin admitted three time that he threatened to KILL Still and his dog. McDowell also ignored the audio recording Still had made of the incident. McDowell is a lousy judge and a worst municipal attorney he should have recused himself. A municipal attorney should not be a municipal judge in another municipality.
Still appealed to a jury trial in Circuit Court presided by Judge Clark Stankowski. It took less time for a jury to find Still INNOCENT, NOT GUILTY than it took to drink a cup of coffee. McDowell’s ruling went down the toilet, along with any credibility he may have had.
“After five minutes of deliberation the jury returned it’s ’not guilty’ verdict,”
“Since the initial incident in 2025, Still had made local and statewide deadlines. The fight even made its way to the Legislature this year when state Sen. Chris Elliott filed legislation to provide steeper punishments for attacking local politicians.
Elliott later said Still’s case inspired the bill, which did not pass through the Legislature by the end of the session.”
“According to former Mayor Bob Wills, former police chief Al Tolbert and police statements, Still attacked Franklin in his office in downtown Bay Minette on Sept. 3 after a conversation became heated. The fight continued out the front door and onto the street, where several witnesses allegedly saw Still restraining Franklin. He was then arrested and charged with assault.”
Baldwin County Sheriff Lowery issued a bulletin to his officers to beware of Still’s presence, prior to any conviction. BCSO has had a conflict with Still for years due to many of Still’s clients being charged or arrested by BCSO. Al Tolbert, former police chief for Bay Minette is now with BCSO. Tolbert lost his job when Mayor Brown was elected so he just slid over to BCSO. Tolbert was the chief of Bay Minette Police and on the Baldwin County Major crimes when O.J. French was Murdered in Bay Minette. Major crimes ruled the death “justified” which is standard procedure for the sheriff office. Tolbert had issues with Still because Still represented the victims of police false arrest, police harassment and wrongful convictions.
Research this case that exposes the corruption and wrongful conviction of Murray Lawrence jr. Still was instrumental in the exposure of the case involving Sheriff Lowery, District Attorney Robert Wilters, former sheriff Hoss Mack, former prosecutor David Whetstone and recently elected judge Kristy Haygood. This case is soon to be a published book and future documentary.
Former Mayor Bob Wills was granted air time on WKRG where he publicly humiliated Still for several minutes. Wills lost the election to Joshua Brown who Still had campaigned for. Still had worked for Wills years earlier which ended up with a dispute about money owed to Still. That situation escalated with Wills taking every opportunity to discredit Still. Wills also was upset that Still was vocal about the O. J. French “murder”.
Harry Still ran for Mayor of Bay Minette in 2020 and he pledged to fire Al Tolbert if elected. Wills and Tolbert waited with baited breath to get even with Still from that day forward. The irony is Wills lost to Brown in the last election and Tolbert ended up getting removed from the police chief position.
Matt Franklin has remained on the Bay Minette City Council despite the court record of him screaming on a public street in Bay Minette that he was going to Kill attorney Still and his dog. How in the hell can he remain a councilman after admitting to his threats. The newly elected Mayor Brown is making a serious mistake and precedent by not removing Franklin from the council. Bay Minette citizens did not vote for a Mayor who would tolerate such behaviour from a councilman and elected official.
“According to Handley, ALEA locked down its marine office in Orange Beach after a threat was made to an ALEA worker. Out of an abundance of caution, Handley said Orange Beach city buildings went into lockdown mode too.” It’s unclear what kind of threat was made or why Still wasn’t charged. FOX10 News has been asking those questions. Bay Minette’s Mayor Elect, Joshua Brown, issued a statement on the attack against the councilman, saying in part, “There is absolutely no place for intimidation, physical threats, or violence in this community.”
What threat? Mr Still was investigating the death of Danny Williams in Orange Beach and went to ALEA for information that O.B. would not provide. The reporter mentions a threat and can’t explain the threat, wth.
Mayor elect Brown said “There is absolutely no place for intimidation, physical threats, or violence in this community.” Mayor Brown what do you call a councilman admitting in two separate courts, multiple times, that he was going to kill an attorney in YOUR community. Mayor, words mean nothing if you are not willing to back them up.
So you must be asking yourself why such animosity towards Still? It is simple we have a corrupt BCSO and Baldwin County good ole boys run the county. Still was the only attorney willing to take on high profile or controversial cases against the sheriff office or the status quo. The good ole boys jumped the gun thinkin they had Still dead to right. They wanted him out of their hair so they could continue a culture of total immunity for any of their actions.
The corruption alleged in Baldwin County is reinforced by the behavior of those who are supposed to uphold the law, not use it as a hammer to get even with attorneys or citizens seeking justice.
Mr. Still has suffered public humiliation and the loss of tens of thousands of dollars all due to AUTHORITIES and POLITICIANS defaming him. This is how the Good ole Boys, aka GOB, roll in Baldwin County.
It is now Mr.Still’s turn to seek justice.
IT AIN’T OVER BABY— STAY TUNED
