Special Memorial Day Edition

Dear Baldwin County residents,

The Ripp Report has received telling information about the City of Fairhope and the Baldwin County Commission. We would like to remind our fast-growing readership that any information provided to us that aids or abets an ongoing federal or third-party investigation of corrupt public officials, will be forwarded immediately to the detectives and proper law enforcement authorities.

I hope you understand that this day gives you the fundamental right to vote. On this day people around the world are dying for that right many of us take for granted.

One of the things that motivated all those veterans in battle was the thought that their government was better than anyone else’s. Today I am sad to say that our government does not represent us the way they have pledged to. The current Veteran Administration scandal is evidence of that.

However, on a local level, Baldwin County government and some of its municipalities—particularly Fairhope—are corrupt and not representing the county as a whole.

Recently we received information from a Fairhope City employee—including documents we have yet to confirm—that exemplify the jaded mentality of our local public officials. R&R Billboards, of Robertsdale, Alabama, has one billboard sign. It is a flashing, multi-colored, neon, rotating digital advertiser, located at Willy T’s across from Robertsdale High School. Two of the advertisements running last week, upon observation, were Senator Slippery Trip Pittman and Sheriff Hoss Mack.

Additionally, the owner of R&R Billboards, Reagan Scroggins, is married to Jennifer Fidler, Public Works Director for the City of Fairhope. Jennifer, who sits on the planning and zoning (the cancer of Fairhope) board, assures Tim Kant—who also questionably sits on the board—will get his way. As Director of Public Works her department was responsible for the BP Boom Grant Funds being misspent. It was also Ms. Fidler’s responsibility to ensure any contractors doing business with the city had an Alabama contractor’s license—which Senator Pittman did not have, at the time, for Pittman Tractor. Pittman Tractor, through equipment leases, debris removal contracts, or other creative means through the City of Fairhope—usually goes through Jennifer Fidler and Public Works.

As far as Hoss Mack is concerned—being on the same sign as Pittman’s…who is paying for what? Is Hoss piggy-backing Pittman’s campaign or vice versa? This is a classic example of how business is done in Baldwin County. One quid pro quo promise for another while all of our public officials are involved in businesses or business deals that are obvious conflicts of interest.

These are facts that were checked out thoroughly after they were received. By noon today you will start hearing all of the excuses from Slippery Trip, Hoss, Kant and Fidler. It will go something like this:

“I have to make an income…the Ethics Commission said I could do it…we do things ‘different’ down here…it’s just a coincidence…Tim Kant made me do it…Slippery Trip made me do it…Hoss Mack made me do it…It was Lynn Stacy’s plan…the city council approved it and the Ethics Commission in Montgomery said it’s okay…”

Baldwin County must clean its own house and conduct county business in a way that benefits us all—and not just a few.
