FAUXHOPE Football “SNEAK’ PLAY

If you like football and are a Fairhope taxpayer, you will be thrilled to know that your city council and mayor have a special bonus for you. If you don’t like football but pay taxes in Fairhope, tough, you still get to pay, but not play. This is a special sneak play designed by the good ole boys for photo ops for the mayor and Backseat quarterbacks parties, you’re not invited to the party but you still get to pay.

You won’t read this in Lagniappe. A couple weeks ago Mr. Angus Cooper, in point clear held a campaign fund raiser for Mayor Kant of Fauxhope. The mayor has over 40,000 dollars in the bank for this next election; most donations are from out of town contributors??

Mr. Cooper, after the fund raiser, attended the last city council work session, discussing the next’s year’s budget. The budget requests were suppose to be submitted months earlier. Mr. Cooper convinced the mayor and council that they would have the distinct honor of paying only 17,500 dollars an hour for the senior bowl players to practice on Fairhope football facility. Two hours, 35 thousand dollars, that we taxpayers ARE PAYING THEM. Fairhope will also supply utilities, maintenance and cleanup. This isn’t poop on the beach folks this is b.s. Mayor Kant raises 40 thousand dollars for his campaign and agrees to pay 35 thousand to his major contributor for Fairhope to PAY a football team to play on OUR facilities, wtf.

There should be an investigation on who sent the pot laced brownies to the mayor and council, they had to be high to make this deal. Baldwin County has a pot brownie problem.

Another interesting fact is that council woman Diana Brewer, employed by the mobile maritime museum, voted for the football “sneak” play. She failed to mention that Mr. Cooper is on the board of directors for the Maritime museum, which normally would be a conflict of interest, recusing her from voting.

What’s a little conflict of interest in a community that’s so corrupt, that a great deal of its citizens feel the Mayor has been rigging the elections? Baldwin County is infamous for fixing elections.

Council woman Brewer is a staunch supporter of a Fairhope independent school system and is a member of the education committee. This issue has been addressed three times in the past and thousands of dollars in “studies” have never garnered no more than 35% support. In fact their own consultant recommends cooperating with the school board rather than fragmenting the school system. Fairhope high has a new wing being added on to the school, compliments of our current school board, eliminating ALL portables, we do NOT need, nor can we afford, an independent school system.

You think the football “sneak” play stinks? HA. You’re going to need Vaseline when the NEW independent school plan is announced.
