Request for Special Meeting on Fly Creek Apartments

I respectfully request that a special city council meeting be set for the issue of Fly Creek Apartments. The two planning meetings related to this subject had approximately 250 people attend the first and over 300 for the second meeting. The council chambers will not be able to handle such a crowd, so the civic center should be the venue. Notification on the city’s part about these meetings has been poor, please allow the public ample time to plan ahead and attend the, very important, final decision of the council. The proposed apartments are suppose to be a part of a “village” concept however it is nothing short of a strip center with apartments and in no way fits the model of Fairhope. This will be a test of the transparency ethics and accountability that the council members all preach about at election time. Please be sure air conditioning in civic center is not on max cool, and that the microphones work. Vote this good ole boy deal in and you will be voting yourself out of office.
