Fairhope - Epicenter of Political Corruption via Conflict of Interest

The foundation of a “good ole boy” government is a solid base of individuals who hold office while maintaining a conflict of interest which promotes their agenda while holding the population hostage to any change.
Fairhope aka Fauxhope is a classic example, until these individuals are removed the general public will suffer through tax waste and remain disconnected from municipal government.
Senator Trip Pittman investigated for BP grant fraud, has continued to fleece Fairhope with sweet heart deals that directly benefit his personal wealth while ignoring all ethics. His latest “low bid” with Fairhope, worth potentially millions, for emergency debris removal was supported by the city council and mayor. He is also favored in his equipment business with heavy equipment sales and leases with the city. All legitimate non political contractors are shut out.
Mayor Tim Kant also under investigation for BP grant fraud is the head of the snake for the “good ole boys”. His control over Planning and Zoning has cost the taxpayer millions. He has developed employment packages for key employees that insure their loyalty to his agenda. Micromanagement and control are key components that he utilizes, as well as limited public participation, to maintain HIS agenda. He is also suspected of fixing local elections. His removal from office is key in eliminating corruption.
Lee Turner President of Planning and Zoning as well as being the head of Single Tax Colony is a glaring conflict of interest. Single tax contributes to city projects and pumps millions into the city. Planning and zoning reviews the same projects, while single tax has control of 50% of city property.
George Robards a major contributor to Mayor Kant, a member of planning and zoning, is a major contractor for single tax colony. He has been awarded contract after contract, worth over 100 thousand dollars while sitting on planning and zoning who approved the projects.
Jennifer Fidler is the head of public works and sits on Planning and Zoning, the majority of projects reviewed by p&z involve public works. She votes 100% of the time the way the mayor directs her to vote. She should not sit on p&z.
Jack Burrell President of the City Council Is the city’s biggest disappointment, elected to change Fairhope politics for the good has failed in making any changes. He has not challenged the mayor on a single issue, and now has been rewarded by the mayor to a 6 year appointment on the airport committee, this happens to be related to his profession. He also holds hands with Pittman in bible study, what are they praying for? It’s not the taxpayer.
Mike Ford city council member for 20 plus years is a charter member of the “good ole boys” he was the architect that added to the already printed council agenda, permission for the mayor to settle the triangle lawsuit, without any public notice or public participation. This was done in order to cover up the mayor’s responsibility in causing the lawsuit in the first place. To add insult to injury the council calls the lawsuit settlement, a park, costing taxpayers 12 million dollars.
Kevin Boone city council, a Kant loyalist who during the election campaign said he “would not work for any city contractors while in office” has now admitted that he has worked for Summit Const. a company affiliated with county commissioner Tucker Dorsey. You can’t make this stuff up, so don’t be surprised if Mr. Boone isn’t a sub contractor to summit who is one of the contractors on the soccer field contract.
Last but not certainly not least are the employees of the city, most of which are hard working and honest, however they are compromised in their position to complain or report any corrupt activities of the city for fear of vindication or being fired by the mayor.
This is a snapshot of how a “good ole boy” system works. WE have another election in 15 months. The state elections office will be requested to oversee the election as many citizens suspect the recent elections have been tampered with. It is however up to US to vote and produce good candidates. To end the organized corruption in Fairhope we must cut the head off the snake, Tim Kant, if we don’t we remain Fauxhope.
Fairhope has paid 17 Million in Lawsuits and parks, while they paid 350 thousand dollars for education, in a city of approximately 16,000 voters. That breaks down to 10,625 Dollars, per voter for parks and lawsuits, $21.88 per voter for education. This is your city council representing you?
