MIME’S WHITEWASHING

Fairhope City Council plays to the council TV, like mimes. They smile and say all they want is cooperation from the mayor, then slam the door in her face. The last meeting they made it perfectly clear that they stand united in obstructing the mayor and backing โ€œcome fly with meโ€ Burrell. All five council members now have all their cards on Jack. They have vowed to seek revenge for the ethics complaint the mayor filed against Jack. An ethics complaint accompanied by at least 4 other complaints, which now Councilman Brown says has โ€œbeen ruled baseless.โ€ Mr. Brown knows that what he is saying is not true. Investigations are underway. Mr Brown needs to understand that the Ripp Report does not put all itโ€™s eggs in one basket. We fully intend to expose and expand the scope of authorities that may be interested in exposing corruption at Fairhope Airport.

In the last council meeting the council approved over 500,000 dollars for council agenda items. The mayors request was for $15,000.

7. Resolution – That the City Council approves the selection of Satterwhite & Associates for Professional Legal Services (PS033-17) for representation of the Office of Mayor limited to his work thus far which started on June 9, 2017 and participation in a mediation concerning provision of future legal services for the Office of Mayor; and further authorizes Mayor Karin Wilson to sign an Engagement Letter between the City of Fairhope and Satterwhite & Associates for such purposes as well as with a mediator to be mutually selected by the Mayor and the City Council; and hereby authorizes Mayor Karin Wilson to negotiate a fee schedule, and establish a not-to-exceed limit of $15,000.00.

It was denied unanimously while almost 15 thousand was approved for police computers.
One must assume the council thinks the computers are more important than trying to cooperate with the mayor.

Please read carefully the explanation by attorney Satterwhite,

Despite threat of suit, Fairhope council refuses funds for mayorโ€™s lawyer – Lagniappe Mobile

The Fairhope City Council approved close to a dozen resolutions at its latest meeting June 26, but one proposed by Mayor Karin Wilson and pushed by her, according to council members, under threat of legal action failed to gain support. That resolution would have authorized up to $15,000 for Wilson to negotiate agreements to contract โ€ฆ

โ€œCome fly with meโ€ Burrellโ€™s response was that no mediation was needed unless they, the council, were the mediators. โ€We are the mediatorsโ€, declared Burrell. Currently, Jack wears many hats, council president, liaison to city for airport authority, bid committee for airport authority and now he is the city legal mediator.

The council says it does not want another attorney; however, they have moved forward to settle lawsuits without anyone knowing what is going on. The 100,000 dollar lawsuit,

PANDORAโ€™S BOX

Today the phrase โ€œto open Pandoraโ€™s boxโ€ means to perform an action that may seem small or innocent, but that turns out to have severely detrimental and far-reaching negative consequences. Once openโ€ฆ

Source: rippreport.com/2017/05/31/pandoras-box/

was brought against the city by an employee and within 30 days the council wishes to settle it and bury it. No lawsuits should be settled by employees or past employees that have made allegations against the mayor without the mayor having the opportunity to represent the people, and herself. Who encouraged these frivolous claims? Did someone on the council encourage the lawsuit and tell the employee โ€œit will never go to court, the council will settle it in executive session, you will never have to take the stand.โ€ That my friends is a serious crime.

Employees are beginning to come forward with information that may shed a lot of light on this subject, at the same time many employees are looking for the door. Jackโ€™s world is shrinking.

“Mr. LLC,โ€ Boone and Councilman Brown were outraged by any attempt to mediation and preempted any lawsuit by saying they did not like to be threatened by a lawsuit. The lawsuit was not a threat it was the next step if the council continued to interfere with the duties of the mayor, Brown and Boone used it as an excuse to pass gas on TV.

Twice the Ripp Report approached the council in an effort to resolve planning and zoning issues. Both times, different councilโ€™s, the council instructed me to sue the city. I didโ€” twice, and won. The cost to the city overโ€” 300,000 dollars. Boone and Brown need to start doing their jobs and stop blowing hot air and challenging the mayor to sue the city when they are responsible for obstructing the mayor from doing her job. This council will be known for itโ€™s whitewashing of complaints and refusal to audit any major issues.

Pandora will never get a dime. What insurance company is dumb enough to give her $100k?

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 2:32 pm |

I hope not a single one. The only reason she even filed it was because she figured the Council would do what they always do and settle. Once employees figure out how to extort the City out of money, there’s no end to it.

      • Kool Aide | July 5, 2017 at 5:52 pm |

Not only city employees extorting money but developers, attorneys and engineers.
        Maybe even Beavis and Butthead!!

  2. Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 1:31 pm |

Most people in Fairhope appear to agree with the Council’s decision not to hire another attorney. Why should the taxpayers pay for yet another attorney (particularly one hired to sue us)? The Mayor needs to talk to the current City Attorney and go from there.
Nothing is being accomplished by the Mayor or the Council because she is acting like she owns Fairhope; she should remember her campaign promises, fire her ‘paid lackeys’, and get to work on the Comprehensive Plan and getting rid of the Fly Creek Apartments. Her showboating is becoming tiresome even to those of us who supported her.

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 1:48 pm |

These facts show the mayor does not understand how insurance works. The carrier will decide which attorneys to use, and they must approve the settlement, not the mayor. The mayor wants to hire herself an attorney then she needs to pay for it out of her pocket. She entered into some competition in Miami, she needs to focus on Fairhope’s problems at hand, stop chasing dreams and do something tangible. Botox is going to a conference in North Carolina, at the cities expense of course. If Botox is this expert then why hasn’t she used her expertise to make Fairhope better.

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 2:38 pm |

The flaw in this argument is that it’s pretty clear the Mayor does NOT have an attorney in the city. The so-called “City Attorney” appears to only represent the Council members and his favoritism for them over the Mayor is crystal clear. He is old and washed up and should have retired years ago.

      • Jester Triple-Six | July 5, 2017 at 5:22 pm |

The city attorney works for the city, that is why he is called the ‘city attorney’. Duh! He ensures the city is protected if the mayor is at fault or the council is at fault, he doesn’t care, he cares about the city. I think when someone is older and WISER that others don’t mean that they are washed up. The mayor can not get alone with anyone except those that kiss her ass, then she is happy. The mayor needs to learn how to stop being a brat, like a little girl she acts.

        • Inspector Clouseau | July 5, 2017 at 6:56 pm |

Robert, you should be ashamed. You will be.

        • Francis Paul Ripp | July 5, 2017 at 7:49 pm |

Jester you are so opinionated would you please share with us what it is about the Mayor’s platform that you disagree with? also how do you think the Mayor’s agenda
has differed since her election? What do you think her agenda is? Please keep your remarks void of your usual bigot, sexiest and bulling ways, just answer the questions.

          • Jester Triple-Six | July 5, 2017 at 9:29 pm |

Wait, did I read this correct, Ripp is calling Jester opinionated? Where do you want me to start about the queen’s agenda? Her agenda is to further herself within politics, she attends all of these conferences when she should be focused on getting the strategic plan finished, when she was elected she stated she already had a strategic plan but now, well! She is out for herself! I have not used any bigoted remarks, nor sexist, and speaking of bullying, oh my word, all you do Ripp and the queen do is threaten people, Ripp you call them names! If me calling someone is acting like a little girl is not different than someone saying they are acting like a little boy, you read what you want to read Ripp. Sexist, not once have I been sexist, and if this was a male mayor then I would call him the king.

            • Inspector Clouseau | July 5, 2017 at 10:22 pm |

You’re just a True Assshole Jester. You lie everytime you open your mouth or post on this site. There is something similar with the way you lie and post. I think I’ve seen the same behavior at the council meetings. Hmmmm? But not as bad as Burrell!!! Trying to keep up with his type is getting easier and easier for you isn’t it?

      • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 8:29 pm |

She has been extremely rude to him; she does not understand the niceties of ‘getting along’. I don’t blame him for snapping at her in that meeting; she thinks that, as Mayor, she makes all of the rules; she doesn’t.

  3. Anon a hopian | July 5, 2017 at 1:34 pm |

    http://www.gulfcoastnewstoday.com/stories/auburn-university-city-of-gulf-shores-break-ground-on-educational-complex,51120

If the mayor was doing her job, along with her sidekick, maybe we could have gotten something like this in Fairhope. Gulf Shores just score a home run with this groundbreaking. “The 24,000-square-foot Auburn University Educational Complex will house four programs: the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Auburn Aviation Center, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development.” They will have a real economic development director!

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 2:03 pm |

Botop lacks both education and relevant experience. What a wasted opportunity for Fairhope to hire someone qualified, and the Mayor wastes it on her friend who needed a job. Worse than Kant!

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 2:41 pm |

What do you do, Jester, troll the Ripp Report just waiting for your chance to praise your fallen heroes and criticize the mayor? You make more posts and replies on his page than any other person. Don’t you have a real job you need to get to? Or are you spending time on the City computer, on the city’s dime, crafting pithy messages?

      • Jester Triple-Six | July 5, 2017 at 5:17 pm |

Jester doesn’t troll, I peep! Jester post when I see just how pitiful of a job this queen is doing. She hired this high paid community and economic development director and someone from Gulf Shores lands this high profile Auburn University Educational Complex. WOW! It will also serve as an incubator for entrepreneurs that Botox was ‘talking’ about! Talk, talk, talk, talk that is all this mayor and her buddies do. That complex would have been perfect for Fairhope! The sooner the mayor resigns, then a special election can be held so we can elect a real leader.

AND maybe I am on the cities time? Maybe I in the mayor’s bookstore drinking coffee listening to all the lies? Maybe, maybe and maybe!

        Strike Fast! Strike Hard!

        • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 5:57 pm |

The Auburn complex has been going on for over a year and was actually decided while Kant was still in office. Why didn’t former Mayor Kant go after this. Stop blaming the current Mayor.

          • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 6:33 pm |

The former mayor didn’t have a HIGH PAID economic development director!

            • Francis Paul Ripp | July 5, 2017 at 6:56 pm |

Hell no he had the GOB’s and Goobers

            • Anonymous | July 6, 2017 at 3:31 pm |

Doesn’t matter ignorant one. Don’t blame the Auburn thing on the Mayor Wilson or her staff. Keep showing your ignorance. You amuse me and I’m sure others as well. Seems like all of you want to just blame the Mayor for everything. You all alway have excuses and take no blame for anything. You think that the Fairhope Council has never done anything wrong? There will be legal consequences for all of you and your fellow Councilmen. I’d tell you and your buddies to grow up. But that’s a FACT that will never happen. Throwing rocks while living in glass houses. Y’all keep it up. Enjoying the show.

        • Francis Paul Ripp | July 5, 2017 at 6:54 pm |

Jester your fascination with Botop is obsessive sounds like you are around her a lot. You seem to be very sexiest and women seem to get under your skin and make you insecure. I hope you understand most people see through you and understand how dangerous a mindset like yours really is.

          • Jester Triple-Six | July 5, 2017 at 9:42 pm |

You, Ripp, are trying to make this into to something it is not, maybe I am a woman? Did you think of that, that a woman could be upset with mayor agenda? Or is this reserved for men only? Are you being sexist? Ripp, you are a bully, and sexist for making those remarks! Unfortunately, I have to deal with her more that I want to!

        • Anonymous | July 6, 2017 at 10:26 am |

That was in the works long before election. Why would that be the current mayors fault?

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 6:41 pm |

Wouldn’t something like the AU complex just bring more traffic and residents to exclusive Fairhope that says it wants people to come spend money, but doesn’t want newcomers to want to live there? Frankly, it is a snobbish town.

      • Pollutionater | July 5, 2017 at 6:58 pm |

A snobish town that pumps raw sewage in the bay where scouts swim triathlons.

    • Francis Paul Ripp | July 5, 2017 at 6:47 pm |

You are dreaming , that was planned for Gulf Shores months ago

    • Kool Aide | July 5, 2017 at 7:55 pm |

No one will invest in the airport until the land is given back to the city.
Investors know now that just a few people would benefit and not the citizens of Fairhope.

      • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 8:22 pm |

Investors don’t care who benefits if the deal works for themselves. If I saw a way to make money investing at the Airport, I would do it regardless of whom the cash flows to.

    • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 8:48 pm |

The Auburn complex has been in the works for since 2014. Why are you stalking the mayor? Why are you spreading lies and so hateful?

    • Anonymous | July 6, 2017 at 2:02 pm |

Jester. This Auburn deal was already up for grabs during the Kant Administration. Don’t blame the New Mayor. This was already in the works and approved while Kant was stil in office. Kant and the Council did NOTHING!!!! If you don’t think that’s true. Then you should have done more yourself.

      • Jester Triple-Six | July 6, 2017 at 3:23 pm |

I just merely stated, “maybe we could have gotten something like this in Fairhope!” This shows how just how paranoid this blog! Keep guessing, one day you will figure who Jester is, I see and speak to some of you often. I use to be a mayor supporter, and now! Maybe I am just a double-agent? Maybe I work at the city hall? Maybe I am the homeless woman at the library? Maybe I am buried at Colony Cemetery? Maybe I am a figment of your imagination! Maybe I am your conscious and you can not handle the truth?

        • Anonymous | July 6, 2017 at 3:53 pm |

Maybe you should just shut up and quit acting like the fool you are. Maybe??? You have said so many stupid things that you and your fellow Councilmen are getting Paranoid and I don’t blame you. Y’all should be paranoid.

WELL JESTER! IF YOU REALLY WERE NOT BROWN. WHY ARE YOU GETTING SO UPSET AND DEFENSIVE. I WOULD THINK THAT IF YOU WERE TRULY NOT ROBERT BROWN. YOU WOULD NOT BE MAKING ANY EXCUSES AT ALL AND TELLING EVERYONE THEY ARE WRONG AND EVEN SAYING MAYBE YOU ARE ONE OF THE MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT YOU MENTIONED. YOU THINK WE DONT ALREADY KNOW! MR. BROWN. JESTER WOULD HAVE HAD NO REASON TO GET FRAZZLED, DEFENSIVE, UPSET AND MAKING UP OTHER PEOPLE OTHER THAN YOURSELF. BINGO! THANK YOU FOR ADMITTING IT ROBERT BROWN.

  5. Vanessa Strong | July 5, 2017 at 2:14 pm |

Porn on computers and she gets paid. Burrell told her to sue. What a joke!!

  6. Who are the people behind the FRIENDS of FLY CREEK lawsuit?

    Are they friends with Jack?

Why would the city accept the deed from Corte?
Is it the past law firm (Hand Arendall), along with the city attorney that thought this was a good idea? Right after Hand Arendall represented Robert Berglin in a threatened lawsuit to the Sandy Ford neighborhood.

    Talk about unclear and confusing!!

    • Francis Paul Ripp | July 5, 2017 at 6:58 pm |

None other than Ray Hix of Hix and Snedeker companies, Jack’s flying buddies. Berglin is in with Corte and the GOB’s

    • Francis Paul Ripp | July 5, 2017 at 7:38 pm |

Yes they are friends and flying buddies of Jack. Ray Hix of Hix and Snedeker companies, the same group Jack awarded an Airport lease. Berglin is a GOB of highest order.

      • Anonymous | July 5, 2017 at 8:24 pm |

So this means that Burrell is opposed to Fly Creek Apartments, as he originally stated? Isn’t this a good thing?

        • Santa Cleez | July 5, 2017 at 10:25 pm |

Burrell can’t win dog catcher. Everybody laughs at him now. He plans on running against Karin. Once the GOB’s pull the Julius Ceasar on him they will run Conyers.

          • Anonymous | July 6, 2017 at 9:37 am |

I think that Burrell is as sleazy as can be; however, the Mayor is making him look like a hero. His approval ratings are probably higher than ever because those of us who voted for Karin are now depending upon the Council to save us from her stupidity.

        • Kool Aide | July 5, 2017 at 11:17 pm |

    • Jester Triple-Six | July 5, 2017 at 9:15 pm |

No one has my back, I fly totally solo. “….Boone and Brown need to start doing their jobs and stop blowing hot air and challenging the mayor to sue the city when they are responsible for obstructing the mayor from doing her job…” Boone nor Brown challenged the mayor to sue the city, she threated to sue the city if they didn’t vote for what she wanted. They all voted NO to her request to obtain an attorney! The council has a legal right to vote how they feel is best for the city. Your statement is not correct, it is wrong, totally wrong! Now, put your money where your mouth is!

      You don’t know Jack!

      • Inspector Clouseau | July 5, 2017 at 10:27 pm |

There is no way that Jester is a woman and here’s why: Because he attacks women personally. Only a man would criticize the mayor and other women for their appearance, they way they dress, and their businesses and interests that do not relate to politics in any way. Men who are threatened by strong women fight back with verbal personal assault instead of intelligent discord. Mark my words: when it comes out who Jester is, we will find it’s a man. A mean-spirited, misogynistic man who is very likely ball-busted at home.

I mistakenly believed that Robert Brown was a good guy who loved Fairhope….my mistake. Seriously…….a radio show?????? There is a Council meeting scheduled for Monday. Now I am beginning to believe that they are sandbagging the stupid Mayor.
