In 2017 The Ripp Report covered many different political issues in Baldwin County. Many of these issues will travel into 2018 and raise their ugly head again.

Baldwin County has a mid term election coming up in Nov. 2018 and all four county commissioners are up for re election. They all need to be replaced, a clean sweep. Their last term saw no change in the white elephant, the mega site. The county has been saddled with a 32 million dollar debt that is being paid on the backs of county employees and taxpayers. It is time for a total change and four new commissioners.

In 2012 the Baldwin County Commission convinced itself that Baldwin County needed to spend 32 Million dollars on 2300 usable acres called the Mega site. South Alabama Mega Site – Shovel Ready in…

In Fairhope the city council spent a whole year obstructing the newly elected Mayor. In spite of their efforts the Mayor forged ahead pushing transparency and accountability as well as hiring a dozen new city employees. The council continues to dig a hole for itself while the citizens are becoming more aware of the negative consequences of their actions.

Early on the Fairhope city council showed signs of limiting public participation and using silence as a weapon against anyone who challenged them. That is how Kant ran Fairhope, Kant is gone.

What they did not count on is the Court of Public Opinion and that they are accountable for their actions and those actions will be made transparent. The Ripp Report will continue to bring exposure to those who abuse their elected or appointed office, regardless of their party affiliation.

Lawsuit alleges Fairhope Council President denied citizen’s free speech – Lagniappe Mobile

From Jack Burrell’s view, Francis Paul Ripp has had plenty of opportunity to speak before the Fairhope City Council. “There’s been numerous times that I’ve let him go over the three-minute limit even if he was sitting up there wailing away on me,” Burrell said. “I’ve let him go. Numerous, numerous times.” But not this …

Where are the good people of Fairhope? Doesn’t anybody care anymore? Nobody goes to the meetings except Ripp. Sad! President Trump, if he lived in Fairhope, would attend the meetings!

    • We have all tried and failed. Corruption is so rampant in Baldwin/Fairhope; we have pretty much given up. Best to sell property and move than try to fight the corruption of Burrell (aided by Boone, Brown, Corte, etc). Disgusting town because of so many ignorant voters.

      • We moved here six years at from Massachusetts. It has changed. Our house is for sale. Want South Florida.

        • You should read the resume of the attorney Ripp hired. What a joke, 2 DUI’s, one in 2011 and another in 2015, and the attorney was defeated 2 to 1 in city council seat he held for the past 30 years. Well, not completely true, he was removed from the council in 2011 for missing 90 days straight of council meetings was remove but reelected. Ths gentleman that Ripp has hired was fired as city attorney of Alabaster too. Oh, and Morris has admitted he is an alcoholic. Yeah, Ripp found someone to take a case that will not make pass go, this case is a farce. He graduated the high powered law school of The Birmingham School of Law, the school is not ABA accredited. But hey, you are who you hire!

Again, why are the other Council members willing (and eager) to become the most ridiculed and reviled in history to die on Jack Burrell’s hill? Either they are all being blackmailed, well paid off, or they are all ignorant…….I have no idea as to each ones’ fatal flaw, but it is clear that it exists.
            Disgusting for all.

          • Legalbeagle | January 4, 2018 at 8:22 pm |

Too bad the guy has a law license huh. He can still sue. He is not on trial. Jack and the city are. Geez Louise the ignorance factor is so high in Fairhope.

            • If you read the complaint, it looks like he was drunk when writing it. Anyone can sue, you can sue someone without a law license, and in this case, it appears Ripp would have been better suited to do this action pro se.

              • You should watch the video. It looks lije Burrell was drunk.

              • Fred Lipsey | January 5, 2018 at 3:47 am |

So the judge, whoever it will be, isn’t gonna give two sh*ts about the drinking habits of Ripp’s attorney. You people are Roy Moore stupid!

              • I heard comments like this with three other lawsuits, I Won all three. I go to court as a last resort. The main reason that it ends up in court is because the council is not transparent and they fell immune from accountability.

          • You should be glad. If you think Ripps Attorney is not that good.
The case looks strong with video evidence. It’s hard not to believe your eyes

          • Look and listen to the video, the attorney is not on trial. Your comment is classic Moore factor

        • Take a few more Yankees with you when you leave….please!!!
          Thank You

    • Melanie Myers | January 4, 2018 at 8:25 pm |

Ripp is an alpha male. Most Fairhope men are betas.

  2. Hunter Robinson | January 4, 2018 at 8:24 am |

The roy moore vote exposed the county. It is not what people think. Corruption is rampant.

    • Georgia Orwell | January 4, 2018 at 8:24 pm |

You are so correct. This county & city are awash in sewage and corruption. Who wants to bet that all of these Council members plan to book it out of Fairhope once they have sold out the entire Eastern Shore for their personal/political gain.

      • GA, all you do is run your mouth without any evidence.

        • Flavious Flave | January 5, 2018 at 4:01 am |

Ga is right to have a cyncial eye. Would you trust Jack Burrell with your retirement fund?

        • Evidence? The Ripp Report has produced city documents that prove various claims, the council past and present simply ignores any and all allegations by refusing comment. Kill them with silence is the council way of avoiding any accountability or transparency

  3. The court of public opinion is now in session.

Observations from the court room: Jack appears worried. Said he has not bothered to get an attorney. Meanwhile, he gets his catalyst pals to run interference on the ripp report board.

It looks like the facts are finally beginning to settle in with the Fairhope Five.

Their days on the council are numbered.

Meanwhile, there is still no budget. Crap still floats in the bay. More turds are flowing than ever thanks to the overdevelopment. Smart growth. Right.

Soccer complex is bringing in millions…in outgoing payments…still not a single soccer tourney there. That’s because it’s a glorified practice field…UNLEVEL.

Hint: Your city council members are also not on the level.

  4. Yaya sistahood | January 5, 2018 at 1:52 pm |

Is the council gonna use tax money to buy Jack’s attorney?

  5. TheBronxZoo | January 9, 2018 at 1:50 pm |

Corruption….Alabama politicians are amateurs compared to New York politicians.
