CATTLE GATE MEGA-SITE

The Ripp Report has written about the Baldwin County Mega-site numerous times. In May last year we had an update on it’s sales status, nothing new.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

In 2012 the Baldwin County Commission convinced itself that Baldwin County needed to spend 32 Million dollars on 2300 usable acres called the Mega site. South Alabama Mega Site – Shovel Ready in…

Then, in February, we got a little more serious about the coverage due to mid term elections. The commissioners should be held responsible and incumbents voted out over their failure to generate any interest in the Mega-site.

SAY GOODBYE INCUMBENTS

Here is a picture of the four Baldwin County Commissioners that need to be put to pasture. The perfect pasture would be that 35 million dollar plus mega site that the commissioners have saddled their…

Now you would think the commissioners would be a little sensitive of all the critical comments. No way they are like ducks in water, just remain silent and most voters will not realize 32 million is in an undeveloped piece of land, cattle could not live on.

Then in January the commissioners and Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance announce they failed again in finding a tenant however the good news was that all the mega-site’s in the southeast have been sold. Fantastic, we are dead last so now we have a much better chance of development.

DEAD LAST

Mid term elections will again bring up all the advantages of the Baldwin County Mega site. Politicians, county commissioners and their hacks, all on board with the annual round of promises that the…

Now folks you would think the commissioners and those hot shot salesmen of the alliance would have a new and dynamic sale plan. Not a chance, presently there is NO SIGN at the mega site. The worst real estate salesperson in the world would at least maintain a sign on the property. Maybe they took it down due to overwhelming interest? Or maybe it rotted away and no one knows it! It was a rotten deal.

NO SIGN?

Just a cattle gate and a few palm trees.

I guess the instructions for a client to locate the site would read:

Mega- site for sale, no sign on property, just go north on highway 59 from Bay Minette and look for cattle gate and palm trees, before you get to I-65, Land no good for cattle, 700 hundred acres are not suitable for development, only 32 million bitcoin or cash, no refunds, contact:phone number on sign. Do not call commissioners.

But where would you put this information if there is NO SIGN????

Can you tell us who owned this mega site before Baldwin County bought it? We want the individual names- not a company name the individuals are hiding behind

I don’t know how to go about doing it, but I do know that records should reflect both the business name and individuals who owned the company and or sold it. Also there should possibly been a realtor involved that should have the info. All that by law, has to be on public record.

This information that you are asking for did appear within the last couple of years somewhere. Mr. Ripp posted???? Langniappe??? All I can remember is the Crosby Family and a trust???? The lawyer Danny Blackburn was some how involved ? Mr. Blackburn is one of the good ole boys! Scary that Danny Blackburn actually has a law degree. DANGEROUS!!

It was a corporation and there were multiple principals. I don’t think you can find out from public records the percentage each principal owns (stock) One is a pretty close relative of this Corte guy but their name is different. So it works out to around 12k/acre which is pretty strong for a large tract. Usually the bigger the tract the lower/acre. By not selling the county misses out on what ? $ 300000/ year property taxes. Of course proceeds could pay down lot of debt. I am guessing after 6 years of recovery the land may be worth 1/2 what the county paid for it. What is so astounding is that a county like Baldwin would spend so much for one purchase. This would be a big deal even if the state spent that much. The DA should have called a Grand Jury to investigate this. I am sure the statute of limitations is in play now but I don’t know for certain. So I am saying there are people besides the commissioners who didn’t do right. Even if they didn’t make money they didn’t do their job like they should have. This should have all been common knowledge years ago but seems like no one knows much.

      • Fraud has no FU statute of limitations. Get on it Judge (now Baldwin County DA) Wilkins. Show us just how much you want the people of Baldwin County to believe in you as well as keep you around. So far so good sir. We will follow up! Thank you

        • I believe it’ is former Judge and now DA Wilters. Wilkins was an attorney in Bay Minette. He could probably enlighten you on some things about the garbage dump as we all call it. $12,000 an acre? Damn sure hope that crap didn’t cost us that much.

Give us the Corporation name – we can probably go to the Alabama Secretary of State & see who is involved in the Corporation.

Do NOT go to the Alabama Ethics board – the mess in Fairhope show they do not do their jobs at all & do not care – it needs to go a lot higher up than Alabama!!! Do not want or need the Good Old Boys in Alabama Politics!!!

    • That info can be found at the Court House in Bay Minette. Then it can be sent to the news and social media. Ripp???

  5. I hope the crooked commissioners get thrown out by their crooked ears. They play the Christian card but they are hypocritics. I have facts that I will inform as many of the voters of the political collusion that is happening.

  6. I guess people moving to Fairhope and baldwin county don’t care if it’s corrupt. Pass the wine.

  7. Just a hunch but I bet the same people that did the soccer fields in fairhope are tied into the megasite deal.

    CATALYST.

    • Hey Marlow, We just got in from a soccer tournament from the “new” soccer field. I couldn’t find a parking space and when someone opens the bathroom door to the Men’s bathroom you can see the whole row of urinals on both sides of the bathroom. Not one score board up and places where the handicap would become even worse off than they are. To watch a game on 8 different fields and not know how much time is left, what period or even what the score is, was disheartening. No threat from me, but the likes of you that had any planning, construction or the incompleteness of the complex shouldn’t be cast out. You should be never be allowed have children. Sorry ass people like you should just do whats right and leave. Jack Burrell should be casterated on one of the fields. Unfortunately, he already has kids who might? Already be causing trouble at Fairhope High School. I know Jack has and is. Man up Chief! Check with the police department. What if we have a real regional tournament. There is no room for anything whatsoever!!! Can’t even park vehicles having a small local tournament????

Bovine flatulence. That is all we get from our politicians. Don’t vote for any of the incumbent pricks. Ripp please challenge the county elections like you did in Fairhope. Call that ace lawyer from the Elections Division to come back down and oversee!

I posted earlier about the purchase of the mega site. I had incorrect information. There is no proof the seller was related to the Corte family,

    • Aunt Pittypat | March 3, 2018 at 5:58 pm |

Well thanks for clearing that up!! We have spent the day trying to make the connection!!

      • Uncle Smartass | March 5, 2018 at 5:48 pm |

Im sure you rewlly went out of your way Aunt Pittypat. Really, some people. I know it just ruined your schedule. Bitch on some other site!

  10. Krazy Karen hater | March 3, 2018 at 7:36 pm |

Is this the best you have this week Paul? How about talking about your good friend Kraft Karen hiring the guy investigating her at the ethics Commission as the new police sgt.

  11. Anonymous | March 4, 2018 at 1:24 pm |

No shocking news, but we had a wonderful tough ethics bill crushed again this week in Alabama. They don’t want to hold politicians accountable who break the law or act in any unethical was. Amazing! Not really. You would be hard pressed to find any politician that has 100% ethics value much less any politician that had any whatsoever!

Is Jack Burrell and the City of Fairhope going to disclose how much money they have paid his attorney to represent him in the case against Mr. Ripp for denying him from free speech? I recall they would not allow the mayor to have her own attorney.
