Catalyst is a political cancer found in Baldwin County. It hand picks political candidates. Catalyst was formally Stacy Elliott and Haygood, the birth of the cancer, that morphed into Catalyst when Mr. Chris Elliott became a county commissioner and Haygood became the Mayor of Daphne. Catalyst represents the old guard or good ole boys. They carefully “select” candidates to represent their interests and place them in as many different races as possible. From probate judge to State Senate seats and all four Baldwin County commission races.

Catalyst’s plan is simple: Place as many candidates in as many positions as possible. That’s how shady deals like the county Mega-Site are made. At the helm of Catalyst is Mr. Scott Boone, Fairhope Councilman Kevin Boone’s son. That bad apple did not fall far from the tree. Catalyst boldly uses intimidation and bully tactics to discourage viable candidates or elected officials who may not agree with them. A lot of that information is fed to Chuckee Cheeze of the failing Gulf Coast News, who will print anything Catalyst wishes.

A classic example is Chuckee’s latest article where he gives the Three Bees press coverage to criticize the hiring of a police officer, a highly qualified individual; but hey he ain’t Catalyst.

Questions arise about new police hire made by Fairhope mayor

Questions have arisen about the announced hiring of Alabama Ethics Commission Chief Special Agent Tony Goubil by Fairhope Mayor Karin Wilson for the city’s police department, after it was …

Please be advised Mr Goubil was an investigator for the Alabama Ethics Commission and had no voice in any decision the Ethics Commission made. He also investigated the Airport scandal involving Mr. Jack Burrell and Mr. Ray Hix, and that my friends is the problem the Three Bees really have.
The Three Bees carry the Catalyst cancer cells and they will spread the cancer throughout Baldwin County, unless the court of public opinion wakes up and votes them out.
Here is three classic examples of Catalyst members that are presently stinging the s— out of the citizens of Fairhope. First up is grandpa Catalyst, Kevin Boone the Fairhope conduit to Chuckee Cheeze and Catalyst.

Catalyst candidates are financed by Prebble -Rish, an engineering company, and long time partner of Kevin Boone, in multiple LLC’s listed on the Alabama Secretary of State website. This is how the cancer spreads. Here are a few articles about Grandpa Boone.

Then we have Jack Burrell, who has completely gone off the rails since he entered politics almost seven years ago. Mr. Burrell was represented by an attorney, paid for by the Airport Board, involving an Ethics complaint. He now is being represented by the city’s insurance carrier in a case involving public participation. He is using your tax money to defend his unconstitutional actions. He denied the mayor that same privilege.

That’s your money taxpayers! Here are some of “come fly with me” Burrell’s accomplishments.

  1. Robert B. (Jester) makes a nice girl.

  2. Anonymous | March 7, 2018 at 3:04 pm |

You sound bitter. Did someone forget to include you in the cool crowd? #haveseatoldman

  3. Anonymous | March 7, 2018 at 8:29 pm |

Paul, even you must agree this hire raises a lot of questions. Even you have more sense than to pull a stunt like this.

    • Agreed. The part that troubles me most is creating an unfunded job and having the new guy independent of the Chief and reporting to the Mayor. She has some good points but all that will happen is the guy doesn’t have a job. He sounded good but you have to wonder why he did not know the rules. Communication is a two way street , Mayor. I think some council members and the Mayor need to reset and try again to work harmoniously. No one is perfect. Start from there.

      • The Postman | March 8, 2018 at 12:50 pm |

They are scared. Big time. Goobs know they are f###ed.

        • Anonymous | March 8, 2018 at 3:17 pm |

I really think this is going to cause the mayor and the FNG a real problem. All must come to the understand the city council can, by law, un-fund any position that is not an elected official. I wished Paul had not band jester, he could really enlighten the blog on how this can backfire on the mayor.

          • Read about the circuit court ruling in Fairfield, Alabama, the council defunded a position and the mayor took it to court, the court ruled with the council, stating: “…state law allows for the city council to defund any position…just as it can fund a position…” Got that form the real Jester, looked it up and as usual, the Jester was right!

            • Ohhhhh. How can I sleep tonight. Another pussy bragging about some bullshit. What names, what position defunded. Speak ole toothless one. Are you meeting at the Gulley too?

      • Who let the Dog Out | March 8, 2018 at 2:29 pm |

Well the way the Jack Burrell and the turds have talked to the Mayor and treated her so poorly, not to mention other citizens. I’m surprised she didn’t just hire a hit man. These bastards have gotten off easy if you ask me. I don’t blame the Mayor or anyone who has been treated like all of us have by this group who has the illegally met, contacted each other and shared personal info and done sneaky attacks and the ill treatment shown towards all of us who are not actually kissing the ring or putting money in their pockets. Watch out, because y’all have been the dogs laying on the porch. We know have one walking around making sure things are done in a mature and humane way. Can’t wait!!! I already got my hand out to catch the first show that drops. Busy Bees ruining our city!!!

  4. Ole Fairhoper | March 7, 2018 at 10:12 pm |

Ripp, you REALLY smacked the beehive with this post. You stirred up the bees and got them buzzing and wanting to sting SOMETHING or just anything that is disturbing the order of their hive. Don’t get stung, please. We need you to keep shining the light on these insects.

    • Paul’s ethics complaints against Burrell were all investigated by Mr. Goubil, case 2017-030 and 2017-088, which were both dismissed. So, Paul, I guess all the hype you put out there was shot down by the mayor’s new hire. JT6

      • JT6? Does that stand for Jerk Tim ((Kant) off 6 times. Just got off the phone. Everything has been not been dismissed yet. Bet you $5000 it won’t be without a settlement. Jack Burry has already stated if if it was good for the city of Fairhope, that he wouldn’t even apologize if it were to be dropped just on a simple “I’m sorry”. He has tile everyone. Not that most of these people we give a crap about in the first place. Go sell your shit Jester, on another site or better, another state. Prick!

      • The Postman | March 8, 2018 at 11:23 pm |

        Shot down by ethics commission.

        • Both of those cases have dismissed – does anyone want a copy of both letters? Lord, Paul, you need to come to the understanding that your ethics complaints do not carry much weight. Both were DISMISSED…JTS

  5. More and more people are becoming aware of the Catalyst machine. Politicians who use Catalyst you are hereby been notified that the voters are on to you.

    • Anonymous | March 8, 2018 at 6:14 pm |

Catalyst- definition: Real shitass people that DO NOT stand up for the citizens. They are in politics to make money for themselves. Not save money for the city. Too many of the citizens need to wake up and not be so naive about the assholes who are running out City, our County and our Country!

  6. I know Tucker Dorsey and. Chris Elliot are Catalyst candidates. How does one find out if the other candidates are Catalyst?

    • Getting the catalyst list together | March 8, 2018 at 2:34 pm |

There will be lists put out in every city and places on will show up on every website possible. Everyone will know. Then we will see the votes swing to the good people. Not the incumbents. Except maybe for Joe Faust. No really good choice there.

      • Save Baldwin from Catalyst | March 8, 2018 at 7:49 pm |

Please get the list together for us so that we can vote AGAINST the Catalyst Group. If I can get the list I will distribute it all up and down Baldwin County. From Little River to Perdido Beach From Daphne to Seminole. The voters need to know which politicians have been bought and owned by this outfit

  7. anon poster | March 8, 2018 at 1:01 am |

    Ripp u bee cray.

  8. Clarence Calloway | March 8, 2018 at 7:45 am |

Looks like dem bees bee buzzing. Keep up the great work, Ripp. The catalyst clowns are on the run. People now see they are out for themselves. Not Christians.
    Faux Christians.
Trip Pittman/Burrell Christians. Liars. Theives. Manipulators.

  9. Paul Ripp needs to get his facts straight. Kevin Boone transferred his membership interest in North Ridge LLC in April 2010. He didn’t became a city council member until 2012. Also Preble-Rish LLC an engineering company was dissolved as a company in 2017.
Paul keep up the good work as the town clown.

    • Yaya sistahood | March 8, 2018 at 12:49 pm |

Kevin Boone is a liar. He made coin off the soccer fields. Him and his squirrel son.

      • Soccer Family | March 8, 2018 at 2:37 pm |

Any what a shitty job they done at the new soccer complex. Paid double and half ass quality. Thanks Kevin Boone and little boy. We as a community are not proud. But we know that y’all don’t give a shit about the soccer fields or those who play there. It will catch up with all of you.

    • Prebble Rish may have “dissolved” but the people behind it are still operating. Belaton is still in business. Probably another LLC in Summerdale

  10. Save Baldwin | March 8, 2018 at 10:35 am |

The reporter you mentioned about is why I no longer subscribe to the Courier. A reporter shoukd be independent but this reporter is owned by the County Commission. He is just a mouthpiece for Catalyst

    • Jackfan2020 | March 9, 2018 at 8:27 am |

Chucky isn’t a ladies man but he’s a journalism expert. He rights exactly what we say.

  11. Quail Ridge | March 8, 2018 at 6:44 pm |

Well, well, well…Mr. Burrell now feels confident he can win the lawsuit against Ripp. Even though the judge hearing the case is a U.S. Marine. Jack, you are dumber than a load of Mississippi Mud Bricks. Dumber than dumb. That’s dumber than Boone. You put the cameras in.

Funny how they will do you in.

    You cannot make this up!

    • That is outstanding because if this judge is a Marine, Ripp is done. He knows what a Section 8 discharge is!!!!

      • The Postman | March 8, 2018 at 11:22 pm |

        Ripp is no Klinger

      • Anonymous | March 9, 2018 at 7:19 am |

In this day and age Burrell better hope the insinuation is not true about sexuality. In case you haven’t noticed they are given everything they ask for.
We could be living in RIPPHOPE after this Constitutional VIOLATION is adjudicated.
The Council should remove Burrell…… Nobody I know can stand the BURRELL

      • Phil Holmes | March 9, 2018 at 10:26 am |

        Jack knows a sewage discharge.

  12. This new cop looks tough on crime. I guess he will start with the sh*tty council…the same one that has been okay with the pumping of crap and toilet paper and bio waste into the bay! Wake up Fairhope! Jack and his gang of thugs are BAD for Fairhope!

    • Bad for Fairhope | March 8, 2018 at 7:54 pm |

These guys came to town, got in with Catskyst, bought elections, and are now ruining our home. They MUST be defeated

  13. Ask yourself: “How will Fairhope look in five years with 40k?”
We are well on our way. 34k live in 36532. Wake up boyz and girlz.
Fairhope is sliding down the bowl (mobile bay).

  14. Georgia Orwell | March 8, 2018 at 8:58 pm |

It is so sad. Our City Council and Baldwin officials appear to all be serving the interests of out-of-state developers/bankers.
They are making bank and will disappear to the next hot spot after they have drained Fairhope/South Baldwin of any resources/quality of life, aided and abetted by our very own Burrell, Boone & Brown. It is so sad that the voters here are so stupid and lazy and are complacently led like sheep to slaughter. (Look at Destin, Florida and know that we will soon be in Destin’s hell, minus the beautiful beach!).
Certainly Mayor Wilson makes mistakes; we all do. However, I have yet to see any of her mistakes that resulted from greed. She is trying to do the best for our City and is being kicked in the teeth by our horrible Council constantly. I wish that I believed that the election outcome would be better next time, but Fairhope’s voters are uninformed and lazy. How can we wake them up?????

    • Ole Fairhoper | March 9, 2018 at 6:02 am |

I don’t think it is too late yet but after the predatory developers are stopped we have to put in real impact fees to shift the TRUE costs of development back on to them rather than the existing citizens.

    • She Keeps Bees | March 9, 2018 at 4:28 pm |

Orwell, you do realize the mayor’s Planning Director and her appointed Planning Commission have all recommended these projects for approval, right? The mayor and council share responsibility this mess. Not one of them will be re-elected.

  15. Stephanie Rice Smith | March 9, 2018 at 8:25 am |

Fairhopians act like their sh*t doesnt’ stink. Always have. Well, now they are wallowing in it. Who in their right mind would move there? grinder pumps at every neighborhood inside the city limits. crap being pumped in the gulleys. A corrupt council stealing from the airport and doing clandestine things there. No ethics. Each councilman has interests in real estate development…the development that is ripping our tiny community to pieces. Quality of Life? That don’t matter to these jerks.

  16. Anastasia H. | March 9, 2018 at 8:46 am |

Property values are going down. FACT!
