HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN

Fairhope’s mayor extended an olive branch to the city council and they accepted it. The last city council meeting was civil, polite and cordial among council and mayor. They are going to have difficult times but as long as they put the city first then it will make solving issues easier.

Fairhope still has baggage from the last administration that will come up time to time and the council would be well served to remember that the past administration’s baggage is something the new council inherited from the previous council.

The issues that have come up since taking office should be as transparent as possible. The council should adopt a policy of conducting an internal review into subjects that are controversial and have generated citizen complaints. The results of the internal review would be made public. Leaving the public hanging for answers will only create more questions and distrust of our municipal government.

It’s reigning cat vs dogs in Fairhope politics

In the charming town of Fairhope, cats and dogs get along better than its elected leaders.

Cats and dawgs can get along. If they want to.

Let’s talk about the handshake deals

Anonymous

Yep, I told you she would join the club! She listened to her advisors in the beginning and it appears she may have realized she was indeed getting real bad advice. Time will tell if a zebra can change its stripes.

Now the budget is done, she really doesn’t need the council for much, she now has the money to spend. Next budget cycle, if she doesn’t get what she wants, then we’ll see if those zebra stripes come back!

Politics, if you can beat them, you join them! Love it!

Bill Wilson

Commas are our friends. Sentence two could use a makeover by an FHS student. At least lose the “a” before “civil.” 🙂

How many handshake deals were done by Kant?
City council set a precedent by paying that handshake deal…..

Anonymous

Kant is no longer mayor! The handshake is supposed to be over but is not!

Fruit Nut

So Mr. Ripp you are giving up on the corruption? This update was not a good one. It seems like you are giving up. Have the mayor and Jack become pals? You make it sound like everything is fine now.

The mayor appears to have kicked those that got her there to the side! Politics!

PAWNS
As this political group fights with that political group. The ones that suffer are the citizens. Yep we are the pawns.
i.e.: Baldwin County Commissioners vs The City of Fairhope

Karin is not and will never be a sellout like Jack and Boone.

Anonymous

LMAO…she sold out the day she was elected!

Claude M.

Soldout to the citizens, citizens, citizens…unlike Jack (who you don’t know)

Anonymous

Do you know Jack? You don’t know Jack!

The mayor is so full of herself it is unbelievable.

The Mayor needed to get down to business and stop fighting the former administration and the associated cronies. Time will tell if meaningful change is possible, as she only has 3 1/2 years and time does fly…Or, is it Jack that fly’s?

Anonymous

The mayor must first understand the city’s business before she can conduct business!

handshake deals were made between boone and burrell and were done under the Kant admin.
boone and burrell are behind it.

Sydney McCants

Karin, we voted for you because we wanted change. Now that you are selling out, we might as well get Kant back in. At least HE knew the minefields. Your main platform was the Fly Creek Apertmsnts. Go ahead and give on that project and BOTH sides will defeat you next election

Hey Hey, Ho Ho, mayor Wilson has to go!
